Default Swap meet in Springfield Mass.

Has anyone been to the swap meet in Springfield? I guess it's January 21st through the 23rd this year. One of my friends is bringing his high dollar 69 Mustang drag car down and hopes to not come home with it. He wants me to go down with him but of course I'm broke as usual. I'm thinking I'll probably take a vacation day and go down on Friday to help him get set up.

Ken,I believe this is the one Dan and I went to last year. Wasn't too bad, more like a flea market, lots of toys, cheap tools, little things. Mostly GM stuff with a handful of cars for sale. Had a motorcycle show there also.
putting together a little something special......stay tuned!

Stan it's a silver/gray coupe tubbed with an 8.71 blower sticking out where the hood should be. I may go down on Friday to help him get set up. He hasn't located an enclosed trailer so it will likely get pretty dirty on the way there. A few people have told him it will "sell for sure" at this swap meet so he's pretty excited to go. I wish I was going looking for parts myself but i'm broke.

I am actually thinking about going on Saturday. Great place to look for Hot Wheels and maybe a right front capri fender.

That's his car Stan. Funny I didn't know he put it on craigslist. It's been on hotrodhotline for a few months. The car is insane but it's a handful on the street. It's basically a race car with lights and an interior.

Doesnt sound like the kind of place where people are there to buy high dollar 871 polished blowers.

My thoughts exactly. But of course the promoter's and one of the guys he's been working with are telling him it will sell. He's had it for sale on and off for years and has never had a serious offer. Of course he hasn't tried too hard either. It's just a ton of money for a fairly useless car that's no longer in style. If it were a pro-touring car with an underhood blower it would have sold years ago. Thankfully most of the big-dollar work was paid for by the last owner. He just painted it, did the interior, and did the blower setup and an engine rebuild. He's got more into his engine than I have into my whole car.

EDIT 1/20 - We're not going. It's supposed to snow tomorrow and not only would travel be a mess but my friend plows commercially and will likely be out for 24 hours straight starting tomorrow morning. Makes me glad I only have to plow my own driveway.

I hit the swap meet today, but did not find anything for Fox Mustangs. In fact except for a couple of older Ford and MoPar parts vendors, most of the parts vendors were for GM cars. I did walk out with a box of assorted used items for the '65 Mustang though.

Im glad I didnt go. I actually finished shoveling the driveway, brought in about 75 pieces of wood for the stove, bid on some ASC parts and spent a little time pulling trim off of #20. Got a bit cold for this. Took the wife out to dinner, too.

Just think where all those folks would be if GENRAL motors had stayed GENERAL motors and went down the drain - where they belong - instead of being GOVERNMENT motors attached to our wallets.

Gee Im not sure why but every time I see a new camaro all can think of is the BAILOUT...
