Default Looks like my LTD LX's block is a roller

Must be a an early one because the spider pedestals are not drilled but they are there, and the lifter bosses are taller then a standard block.....so, looks like I'll be swapping in one of the HO roller cams while I'm swapping heads and converting to EFI.

Now I've just got to find the set of dogbones, I've got 3 of the spyder hold down deals. My garage is like a 5 gallon bucket with 6 gallons of **** in it.
Seemed odd how tight the last cam bearing was, I really had to pull the flat tappet cam out and the roller cam was hard to get in the last little bit, it's only got to last a little while.

The blocks were cast for roller cams before the roller cam ever came in anything other than a Mustang.

The "roller" block was cast for when the Capri and Mustang got a roller cam ('85). The Capri/Mustang was the first (and only in '85) passenger car to get the roller cam, but only the carb engine that year. The engine we're talking about in this thread is the CFI version. They got the roller block later in the '85 model year, but not the roller cam. The CFI engine continued using the "H.O." flat-tappet cam through the rest of the '85 model year, even with the roller block.

Pedestals are drilled, cam, lifters, dogbones and spyder are in, this was a very pleasant surprise, lookng forward to getting this thing back on the road, under EFI power.

Forgot to mention that someone had been in there before as the timing cover had been off, my first clue was the cork gaskets on the front corners of the oil pan. The second was that they put the front seal on from the inside, even though the timing cover was the newer style, so the seal was pretty much worthless as the seal lips were pointing inward.
