OPETH. All the time. I even have the "O" tatooed on my back. If there isn't an Opeth cd around, I listen to 93.3 or 100.7 which are classic rock stations here in Phoenix that play anything from Steve Miller, Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Metallic, The Who, CCR, Foghat, even Zappa occassionally. But Opeth is and will always be my favorite band.

If anyone likes metal and high degrees of musicality and beautiful writing, check out Opeth. It's death metal/black metal/acoustic/jazz/progressive. They are in their own category, very cool stuff. 20 years strong now. Here are some examples from the latest DVD. If you have the time, you'd be doing yourself a service to listen to the songs all the way through to catch the extreme diversity and beautiful chords/melodies present in these songs:

With no radio or tv airtime whatsoever in almost every country, they'd have to be pretty popular and get lots of word-of-mouth fans to get sell out gigs like Roundhouse and Royal Albert Hall so give them a listen.

That's funny. I would never choose to listen to Dragula because it was sooooo played out in the late 90's. It was in EVERYTHING. And once it was all used up they remixed it... That said, if I'm driving and anything from the Gran Turismo 2 sound track (even Dragula) comes on the radio, hopefully there isn't a speed trap up ahead. I just can't help it.
As far as my musical taste goes, I don't even know anymore. I'll listen to just about anything. I guess if I don't know what to play I usually toss on a Queen album.
I listen to everything from Classic Rock, to Heavy Metal, modern music, Country music, etc.
My go to is generally 80's Bands, suck as Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Metallica, Ratt, Def Leppard, Warrant, etc.
Yes, Yes I even listen to Nickleback too!
Oh! and the all time favorite is still KISS!!!!!!

Yeah don't choose to listen to Dragula very often for the same reason, it was just the most fitting Zombie song to put here.
I myself am an extremely diverse person when it comes to music. I can go from country to gangster rap to neo-classical to death metal in the blink of an eye, just depends on my mood and what I am doing. Mostly I put Pandora on when I'm in the garage and let my 200+ stations shuffle and do their thing. I very seldom pick one style or band and roll with it.
I guess my main listening pleasure would be of the 80's+ Rock and Metal genres.
Really enjoy collaborations of guitarists that really are top of their class. I enjoy the differences in the styles and when they play together it really brings out the melodies and energy.
For the rock/metal guitar players on the site, here is a group of some of the best from my generation. ENJOY!

Never into country, but heard plenty growing up. My mom used to play Merle Haggard's song Okie From the Muskoogie a lot for some reason.
Found a cool Beach Boys version back when Merle passed. Looks a lot like John Lennon in the crowd around 2:48 (?).
It's funny just to check out the crowd shots for a taste "the olden days" !

On my satellite radio, it's the New Wave , 80's, Dance/trance, Caleinte, Backspin, Roadhouse channels in my memory.
I stopped listening to Pop radio when Nirvana was the new artist on the air.

I've always listened to a mix of different things. Used to like the heavy "stoner rock"....and Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica. Lately, in my old age, I've started appreciating the lighter stuff.

Those are a few I've had playing in the truck lately. I like country music, but hate "new country"...which isn't really country at all. But there are lots of good "alt country" artists (should just be referred to as "country" in my opinion). More specifically, the "Texas Red Dirt". Just do a search on that and you'll hear some good stuff.

Country I absolutely cannot abide. Unfortunately, it's the wife's go-to. I can't pretend I like "everything", since i'm really picky. I do like a lot of different things though. Makes it hard to put the ol' ipod on shuffle.
