    Just found this thread.
"The Mustang Garage" in Belgium probably has the largest Mustang model collection.
    https://mustanggarage.be/

All walls of the car showroom are covered with them. All different ones.
Adelbert, the owner is a great guy. Has a soft spot for the fox bodies too.

Happy New Year 2024 to all.

Youngest brother bought a new toy Saturday. 1/18 die cast drag race car from the 60's.
Signed by the real car's first owner/builders/driver in their current race shop a few miles away.
Has real hood pins. Plus extra ones. One of 426 made. Yah it has a Hemi.

Bought this one from a guy a couple weeks ago. I think Johnny Lighting screwed up. Says 1987 mustang 5.0 but the car is a 4eye and obviously looks like an early cobra. Weird

Default parts almost delivered to house

Was on the FedEx site tracking recent RA purchase.
    Kept watch of porch.
Delivery was posted today at 204p today Sunday 12/31.
    No box on porch 4p.
Fedx posted a pic of my box on a deck. Not my house. Have no deck. Nor vinyl siding.

Took a snapshot of their web photo showing delivery and decided to hunt around neighborhood.
House with brown deck, light yellow siding. Looked familiar.
Before house owner or porch pirate complicated things. Rain and sleet too.

    Found it quickly.
Next door neighbors corner lot house. Box visible? uh yah. Just like in the FedEx photo.

She was not home so i helped myself to my package on her porch.

Her house number is clearly visible. Driver had to walk past it. WTHeck?
Tech and the holiday. Box travels 700-800 miles miss delivered to correct house by 50 feet.

Parts boxes from RA look fresh. Must be 50' of brown paper packing. Saving for paint masking.
-Struts are OE Spectrum. Made in USA.
-Lock kit contains two coded cylinders, clips, keys. Look to be of oe quality. Made in Taiwan.
-Flex exhaust pipe box says made of electro-galvanized strip steel. Made in USA.

That is an unusual combo. A diecast of a plastic MPC 1/25 model car and its box.
I have that exact no year kit still boxed in the wrapper. One of those best left unbuilt?
Never noticed 1979 model year on box is omitted .
A real one is parked in my driveway. Does have 1987 or so 5.0 GT turbine rims on it now...

It’s definitely a misprint. The little box that comes with car has a four eye car pictured on it and the actual cast car is a aero with all the markings of a cobra car lol

Or maybe the box is a separate bonus to the actual car? Almost like the Diecast car is a 87 car painted as a tribute to an early years cobra. Who knows lol

Looking again the kit box has 1978 as year next to the MPC address at the time.
Can build as a turbo 2.3 or V8. Cobra graphics on doors and hood is 79 only.
    Nice find for sure.
More 4E variations out there than i thought

    Got a NEW CAR. AFX/Racemasters 22068 Shelby GT350 1965 white/blue.
Part of the MegaG+ race system. Have not taken it out of package yet.
Amazing how sharp the details and paint are. Window trim door handles. How they do that?
Time to set up a new track layout and test it out. Will be using a AFX Data Race Center to time laps.
Black+Yellow California plate RRW239 red NOV tag. Blue GT350 rocker racing stripes.
With a magnifying glass, Blue LeMans Stripe paint has an interesting realistic metalflake like color pattern.

The new Shelby Mustang HO scale slot car pictured above has magnets strong enough to pick up a section of track.
Stationary car stays on when track is turned upside down.
New living room 3x5 track layout is in pre-planning stage.
Thunderjet, AFX, Tyco cars. Lots of stuff survives from actual sets we race on starting in the 60's.
Pin and lock track is stored. Using first gen AFX Speed-Loc track, track key, with Data Race Control Center.
Reinforced all snap track ears because they crack and break off if not careful.

Have two full size Russkit AFX 45 ohm controllers, one is 3 wire with brakes.
Getting ready to replace a worn out controller cord on one of these using speaker wire/gator clips:
