From last weekend's roadtrip through Missouri, I found a few more SSPs.
BTW, I score big time at those Dollar General stores.

I'm having a rough time finding that SSP. Maybe I need to come out by you? Wow, you really scored. Also, that Fairmont wagon and exp are amazing! Those are two I've never seen...excellent score!
    Cheers!

    ^ ^ ^ Many, many thanks!

I am really happy with the Fairmont Wagon -- HO Scale. I'm still wanting to build that train room. Too many projects.

I'm trying to get all 2,000+++ of my die-cast photographed -- for fun and insurance purposes.

I'm trying to get them all organized. Right now there are about 800 in my living room.

Since you mentioned Auto World, here are a few more.
Funny, I've been thinking about doing the same. My collection has been just sitting in my closet for probably more than 10 years. I've been getting more into collecting lately, which isn't necessarily the smartest thing to do at this point.

I have a ton of stuff, don't even know how many cars. Lots of older late 90's-early 2000's Racing Champions, Johnny Lightning, Hot Wheels, and probably a whole lot more that I've long forgotten about. I must have at least 1000 cars still in package, and the same number of loose cars. Maybe I'll take a day or two during spring break and see what I have! My girlfriend will never understand.

Been thinking more about my collection today. Remembered that my Grandpa gave me a bunch of Matchbox Models of Yesteryear when I was a kid. All of them mint or near mint in the original boxes. Going to have to find those, they're very special to me. It'll be interesting to see what they're worth too. Even when I was little, I always took good care of my cars. I had a few go-to cars that were my absolute favourites. They got quite trashed. For the most part though, they survived. My Cal Customs Shelby Cobra was by far my favourite car. Had grey real rider tires and an opening hood.

More pickups! Good diecast vibes all around, found my first super treasure hunt at the dollarama! It's my third treasure hunt that I've found, ever! Last one I found must have been in 2006. The SSP's are just a bonus at this point -

I don't collect diecasts, but I have started collecting old Tonka trucks because they strongly resemble the old Ford trucks of the time period. I have somewhere over twenty, with all years from 1954 to 1961 covered. Most are in need of restoration (new parts are available!) but I have two that are too nice to restore. The red pickup is a 1958 Sportsman, and the white Green Giant truck is a 1954. The pictures are crappy because the red pickup is bright and shiny in person.

1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.

I'm sorry -- what do you mean variations?

For tomorrow (Monday), I have my day planned. I'm in Arkansas and I'm headed up into Missouri (again). I've mapped all the Wal-Mart and Dollar General stores in a large circle ending back up at the house here. It sweeps through Poplar Bluff where I'm supposed to check out a music store that is going out of business to see if there are any display cases (or whatever) that I can used in the new man cave.

For those of you who also collect, I have really good luck at these Dollar General stores.

On a Rampage you say, bridgener??? Well ... now that you mention it ...

Haha that Rampage is awesome! I only knew about the red one they did in the 80's with rubber tires on it.

By variations, I'm talking about minor differences found from car to car, depending on when or where they were produced. For example, the most common version of a car might have standard 5 spoke wheels, but a very small number of them might be found with 10 spokes. There are variations in colour, wheel type, decals, designations on the base, even packaging variations.

I second what you said about the Dollar General. Here in Canada it's called Dollarama. It's where I've been luckiest over the past couple of months. However, other collectors are starting to catch on. I went to one last weekend, and while sifting through the pegs an employee came up and told me that someone already asked her to open up a sealed case and picked out the "good ones"!

I picked up a couple of these a couple of weeks ago at the local Fred Meyer. Shocked the hell out me when I saw them.

I have found some unusual ones at orielys. Was there getting seals for my trailer and wandered over. Had 3 on the shelf.

Picked up a few more cars in the past couple weeks... I've gotta drop this habit. A couple bucks here and there doesn't hurt immediately, but I could easily nickel and dime myself broke! Over the March break I'm going to go through my collection and hopefully that'll quench my thirst for a while!

Found a couple basic treasure hunts (probably shouldn't have bought them, I don't even really like them!) the Fiat has different wheels in back than the front so that's cool. Grateful Dead VW was found at the dollar store of all places - usually they just have regular cars. The Greenlights were a splurge item, the detail on them is awesome. I will open the trailer and truck when I get a little display shelf built for my apartment.
