A while back I posted this
    http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthread.php?t=94681

Well I ended up getting a tip from the Squirrel and went back to look further in to that mustang. Turns out its not just another stang. Its an 84 Predator Cobra GT302 #87, to be specific. So I went back to the yard and talked to the owner. We walked out to the car and I said, "how much for this one?".
He replied, "well I know I can get $500 out of it for parts, heck the wheels are worth $100 at least".
I say, "So how a bout $400 and you keep the wheels?".
    Him, "that will work."

So Friday night he delivered my Predator to my door, no extra charge.

Now comes the fun part, putting this pony back together! I'll post more pictures tomorrow, so far I can tell you that the interior is cleaning up okay, and its rust free. GO #87!!! And thanks squirrel!

NICE SAVE! Post interior pictures when you get a chance too, and the door tag if it hasn't been painted over? It looks like the car might have been black or red originally, it's definitely worth figuring out which color it was and restoring it. I'm very very glad to see someone picked up the car and intends to restore it, these cars are so rare it's a shame to let even one die, even if it needs a lot of work. If you've got any questions, I'll be glad to help answer!

I'll post pics in a little bit. The car is now tucked away nicely in my garage. I've been messing with Lincolns so long that this mustang looks tiny! lol It is a red car, but someone painted it maroon-ish purple, then someone else primered it. now its up to me to strip it down and take it back to red. My main concern is how far back to stock do I want to take this car? I mean there is a lot missing, and I am staring at a blank canvas. I need the Predator melvins on here to chime in and tell me what is too far.
here's what I already have in my garage, would this be sacrilege?
90 Lincoln LSC 5.0 HO Edelbrock torker II intake, long tube headers, World Class T-5 trans, B&M pro 5.0 shifter, 8.8 posi with disk brakes, and the ability to go 4 or 5 lug at the same time.
I want to keep this thing a predator, and I want to pay my respects to Mr. Tom Solomon, but it's an empty shell with endless potential. What would you do?

A Predator is a Predator! They will be worth as much or more than Saleens. The documentation is there.

My $.02 if I may. The things that are CORE '84 predator are:
    4 point roll bar
Carroll Shelby 8 spoke 4 lug wheels
    '65/6 shelby scoop (fuctional)
    GT302 Rocker stripes
    Monte Carlo engine bay brace
    walnut shift knob
    hood pins

Apart from that, your options are open. I would definitely leave the car 4 lug and track down a set of wheels for it. They are not easy to find, but it is one of he biggest identifying factors for the car. Maybe do 4 wheel disc, but keep it 4 lug. I'd definitely do it back to factory colors with the correct stripes and find the hood scoop for it. Aside from that, I don't think a modded 5.0 motor, 8.8 rear end, and a nicely built and shifted T5 will hurt anything. It may not bring concours money, but at least the car will be back on the road where it belongs and will be true to the spirit. That's my $.02

It was almost last year ago, he want 600 dollars for it. I think they are pretty high but I had never see anyone else who have rims set up for sale. Im pretty sure he still have it. I have 84 Predator too, If my predator don't have 8 spoke rims, I more like will buy it from him. Good thing my Predator come with 8 spoke rims.

If you still interested, PM me for contact his email address.

The car needs a lot, but you have a lot to work with too. Judging by the early built number, your car probably should look like the red one steve posted with the regular GT blackout hood treatment and the american flag covering where the GT sticker would have been. I'd almost be willing to bet money your car looked exactly like that, as it seems there wasn't much variation in the way '84 cars were built. The biggest question might be whether the wheels were white centers or natural finish. Orlando might know.

Nice Rivi too, I used to be a buick guy (I've had around 15 70-72 Gran Sports) so I know them well

It's hard to tell but it looks like the Buck Tag is behind the driver-side bumper cover support bracket. Is it, or am I just imagining? Has the VC Label (door sticker) been painted over or removed?

They were made by Carroll Shelby, almost all of them were 14" but some were 15". When Solomon started building the Predators, he bought a lot of (if not all) of Shelby's remaining stock of the wheels.

I've started freshening the 302 that will find it's home in the car. Other than that its slow goings. Wheels should be here in the spring.
