I have seen several posts on this forum where members had confused a "normal" or "regular" vinyl roof for a carriage roof.

This TV commercial from 1981 should help to show the difference between a regular vinyl roof and a carriage roof. Enjoy!

    Ad posted approx. 2013--

"1980 Mustang Ghia Coupe, TRX, Female-owned, Yellow, Black top, rare Black Leather, PS, PB, A/C, factory Tape deck, Asking $1,800.-" This was for sure before Dennis Collins broke all those Third Generation records at the Barrett-Jackson auction house.

Very nice! I would like to see the details, but the facebook post you referenced is in a private group so I can't see the post. Can you provide any details that are included in the post, along with any other pics and possibly the fb username and any contact info for the seller? Thanks!

I checked my archives, however they only go back to 2014 for some reason.

I remember reading this ad like it was last night.
Thanks for posting. Where did you see this ad? Are you sure the reference to "black top" was a Carriage Roof, and not just a standard vinyl roof?

I sent them a message to get their contact info. Decent price.

Yes, and the price is in CAD which is actually $1200 USD; if I didn't already have one I would have tried for this one. I hope whoever buys it will retain the carriage roof! I am going to see if I can join the FB group and contact the seller to get the particulars on this car, and add it to the "Listing of Known Carriage Roof Mustangs" thread.

Its unfortunate that so many of them get torn apart/junked. I guess some people just don't know what to do with them. In reference to post # 58, it was for sure a Carriage Top car, I remember it vividly. The Carriage Top looks completely different from the Vinyl Top.

I remember an older woman was selling it out of Florida. It was Yellow/Black, with a factory 8 Track Stereo, and an ultra-rare Leather(not vinyl) interior. Somebody on FEP posted the ad, originally from Craigslist. I tried searching posts from back then, to no avail. This site was down a number of years ago (for over a week) and we unfortunately lost a lot members to Facebook, along with some posts.

This blue car is mine. I had it for sale but once I pulled back the carpet the toe board and drivers/pass front pans are tough. I’ve had lots of offers but want it to go to someone who will fix it and keep the roof. I dunno. Might pull it in my shop and do something cool with it myself. And keep the roof. I love the colour and the roof

Still love to find a Triple Black/White top Carriage Roof car with factory Alloys & a stick. I wonder if one was even built?

Also was able to snag four new center caps. I always liked those wheels too.
I wonder where Bob went; maybe he's on Facebook. That car out of St.Louis that Scott found recently, was like a twin to his, only in bad condition

I am about 95% complete with the restoration project for my 1981 Mustang Ghia with the carriage roof, and I have run into a significant parts source problem with a piece that is unique to 1980, 1981, and 1982 carriage roof Mustangs.

I am in need of the trim piece that runs along the edge of the trunk near the rear window, as shown here:

If anyone has one by chance, or can give me a lead, I would be appreciative. Not sure what I will do if I am unable to locate. Thanks in advance.
