Default long time Ford/Mustang guy, new here...

    Hi all,

Obviously, I'm new here. However, I'm a Ford Senior Master Tech, a former Ford Service Training Instructor in the Philadelphia/Washinton DC region, and now a college professor of Automotive Technology at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, MD. I currently have a restomodded '64 1/2 260v8 coupe, a '67 200I6 conv awaiting resto, along with a '69 Falcon SportsCoupe and a '69 351W LTD coupe. I also play with Festivas! (www.fordfestiva.com) I've recently gotten an itch for a 4-eyed car, as I've always have a great amount of admiration for their style, much more so than the aero foxes. I"m currently in negotiations for an '86 SVO I found locally. Even if I don't aquire it, I'm still looking forward to hanging out and talking early foxes.

Wow, I can't believe its been almost seven years since I first joined here... Never did score an SVO, but I did finally score a 4eye, today! Obtained an '83 GT hatch, SROD (October '82 build). She's rough, but mostly there. Missing the original intake, carb, and manifolds, as well as most of the smog equipment. Most likely going EFI with it, as my goal is daily drive it.Name: PART_1489350618239.jpg

Welcome Jim. College Professor even. Not supprised at all...

Know you from way back in the 00'tees at FSP. Your two years on info in 372 short posts was J-U-S-T sensational, and helped me decide to buy my 81 Stang. The systems took me years to understand, but everything you said was true. Some proper respect for the knowledge of the FoMoCo engineers was all that was needed.

xcstacy; I thought your name looked familiar! Yeah, I still lurk on FSP from time to time, but sold my Falcon. And thank you for the kind words!

Fearnot; yes! I've been at the college for 12 years now, and teach the Ford ASSET program. We were recently recognized as one of the premier Ford ASSET schools in the country (out of over 80 schools). My co-worker and I strive to produce the most skilled, most knowledgeable entry-level Ford techs possible. What's cool is that even thought they are considered entry level, they are only three Ford certifications away from Master Tech Status, as far as their training goes. That's about 98% of the available certifications they can achieve. The only thing they lack is time in the job. Once they hit the three year mark, they qualify as Master Techs. It takes most techs 10 years+ to reach the same level these folks reach in two!

And thanks, I think the car's pretty cool, too!

Oh, and I teach ALOT of electrical courses. I also like to keep things fun in my classroom. I recently reviewed basic electrical with a new class. I reminded them of the basics; Ohm's law, Kirchoff's laws of series and parallel circuits, and Lenz's law. I then asked them if they knew about Cole's law. They said they did not, and wanted to know what it was. I told them it was primarily shredded cabbage...

Cool car; I'm digging the old Motorsport banner in the windshield. I came within about a day of ending up in some sort of Ford tech program back twenty some odd years ago, but it never happened. Always sort of regretted it.
