I have a 80 Cobra, red with black interior. Waiting on my Marti report to see how many were made like it.

I got the deluxe report back but I am waiting on the personalized detailed statistics.
The deluxe report shows there are only 20, 1980 mustangs with my paint/and trim codes, fewer will likely have the cobra package.

Very cool. Keep us updated on the detailed specifics. I've been thinking of ordering one as well.

Window sticker came in the mail today from Marti Auto Works
The car cost more than I thought in 1980.

I remember Dingwall Ford in Windsor! That is a long time ago! It became Rose City Ford.

The last time I posted in this thread was on 9/8/10, which was 11 years ago. Damn, that's a long time! Anyway, I'm happy to say that I still own my Cobra and it's now been 21 years of ownership. A lot has changed since then and I now have a naturally aspirated 347 stroker under the hood and a brand new Tremec TKX transmission that I'll be picking up tomorrow. I can't wait to get that installed. On a side note, my Cobra still wears the Foureyedpride.com decals in the rear quarter windows with pride. Name: Plymouth.jpg

Wow great to see that car again and all is well. Nice pic still has the clean calendar look.
That trans will be the bomb worth every penny.
The US HQ is couple miles from my house.

For now keeping my Cobra 2.3T as n/a config. Changing to a T-5 is a huge factor as to keeping these cars on the road.
Pretty much have found out why 79 2.3 turbo config was not the best option after 43 years and 360K.
Can always go bigger cam or something after intake is changed out next year to n/a is have with current 2305 Holley 2v.
Driving and working to have a Cobra reliable and looking respectable is so enjoyable. More so every year.
Even thru major issues over the years, never has been not worth keeping or gives any thought of selling.
Has always been repairable even when others say not. Pretty good, it being an outside car most all its life.
Sure, could drop a V8 in, but prob a lot less work keeping as is until finding parts or rust becomes a bigger problem.

Thanks! It's good to see that you have yours too. They're getting harder and harder to find and I plan on keeping mine until I can no longer drive. Hopefully I'll have another 21 years with it! That'll put me at 74 years old and by then it might be time to let someone else enjoy it. Who knows, maybe it'll have an electric motor swap by then?

I wish I could tell you. I picked it up last month but didn't have time to get it installed before I went racing three weeks ago. Unfortunately while at the track, the engine ate a lifter and wiped out the cam. Thus, I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I've already pulled the engine/tranny combo and once the engine is repaired it'll go in at the same time.
