    Default What wheels

What where the stock wheels for an 89 Mustang GT?

Not that I want to get them but I would like to know if it was the pony's or the other ones.

Now hold on a minute. Would you rather have a set of the original 14" steel wheels instead of a set of turbines? I bought the set that are now on the Blue Capri which were orignally on the Beater from a friend for $25 in 1996. Sure did improve that car! Yes there are nicer versions of FoMoCo and aftermarket but just because you don't like them don't throw them under the bus. Besides two sets of turbines are better than no sets of turbines!

Yeah I won't be getting those.........ever. I think they look ok on an all original car but I wouldn't put them on in place of anything but steelies.

    Way better then 10 holes

USUALLY I am not a turbine fan either but for some reason I like them a lot on our 88GT, just don't know why but I do.

I don't think they go as well on our beloved 4eye's though.

They aren't terrible but there are better wheel designs for our cars out there... Plus those turbines are a pain in the butt to clean!

They actually don't look too bad on your (Kristen's) '88GT Jeff. I dig the 'factory' look.

I really liked them on my 89 GT. Yes they are a pain to keep clean though.

Now what I have been using on them....is this....

Now I don't like it on all the wheels I have on other cars but it sure seems to be repelling the brake dust off the turbines very very well.

I was asking because I have an 89 GT I bought from a member here. It has 4 spares on it so anything is better then what it haves now. Like I said before I won't buy them since I think the Pony's are better looking but if the car had the turbines already I wouldn't mind.

I like the factory look but I won't spend money to buy the turbines to make it look right. I would rather run Pony's or the Cobra R's since they are cheap now.

Yes but turbines are really cheap when you find a set.

Turbines with white letter tires FTW!!

This a trick question ?? Lol Anything is better than Stock Steelies. I know I lived with a set for 4 years on the 82. For all the Turbine haters I got a set of those rubber coated Steels on the 84 if you want to talk bout ugly lol. Yall can send me all your unwanted Turbines hehe .

I found a place that offer the poney knockoff's in a 17. May have to look into those. I would love to wrap some 275/40/17 DR around a set of poneys just to be different.

    Just to show the difference:

The BlueCapri had Steelies and I put the Turbines from the Beater and was amazed at the difference!

Not really a fan of those in chrome either but on a white car it might look ok. Those aren't the exact ones I saw but the idea is the same. I saw 17x7 or 17x8

That red GT with chrome ponies is too much like my ex fiance's car. No offence to the car but I'm glad to be rid of her and I don'y miss seeing her car either. I'm not a fan of the wheels, but I may have a slight prejudice against them.
