Today I prepped and dyed my door panels black. Sharp eyes will notice that I removed the stainless brightwork from around the vinyl pad. These are going back in the Capri, maybe I'll get some pictures later this week or next. Gotta get the right trim panel retainers, a trip into town will take care of that.

Gotta decide if I'm putting new carpet on the door bottoms or wrapping some board with vinyl. Aluminum would be cool too.

My wife and I went to the local Target store to push start it since it's been there since 4pm Friday. I stopped to get an anniversary card(11 years), came out and no starty, to top it off I had left my cell phone at home, doh! NOT a good way to start your anniversary evening!

Nothing planned with it tomorrow either. The truck needs new brakes and shocks. Someday I'll get around to that tranny swap.

I didn't do anything to it. I haven't even seen it in a couple days! But, I did order up the fittings I need to get my adj. fuel pressure regulator hooked up. But, one of the fittings I need is backordered til Sept. 3. I was really hoping to have it running before Sept. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait......

I have not touched my Saleen for quite a few weeks now but today I charged up the battery and then I played with the map light. Tomorrow I may take it for a short drive around the block.

I set my timing from 15/36 back to 17/38.... took it out for a long thrashing down some
twisty country roads... now it leeps off the corners and bounces the 6k rev limiter again
with ease. I'd lowered it because even though I heard no preignition, I was worried with
my higher compression I might be risking low level detonation and a broken ring. But it
really likes the extra timing and makes it rev sweet!

Nothing, it has gone back into hibernation for an undetermined amount of time. I'll probably pull the engine/tranny in a few weeks though.

Today was a pretty good day for the '83. Relocated/rewired the relay for the electric fan, got rid of the crappy wiring for the foglights (will rewire when I install the new fogs), and installed a mini tach on the column. Figured out the factory tach is horribly wrong.....as in 700 rpm off at idle..lol. Now I'm wondering what the real rpms are when cruising on the highway, even with the C5.

Well Penny is sitting all by herself now that the two-toned coupe is gone. She was getting tired of all the attention the other car was getting. She is much happier now.

Finished up the smog pump eliminator kit last night. Started right up and belt tracked fine. I will drive it tonight or tomorrow to see if it makes a difference.
