On Friday I was like "ok I will put the headers on the car and move on to the next piece of the puzzle" OK NOT! I pulled the engine up off its mounts and forward so I could slip the headers into place and bolt them up, no problem. I set the engine down on the SOLID mounts and the engine sets up straight and the slack in the chain goes loose "what the heck?" ! The passenger side header was hitting the K member which is stock and a 79 so that is ok I have to pull it out and do some trimming. I do that and put it back in 8 more times before I figure out that the engine mounts are drop mounts and need some shims. POW! Problem solved, what a waste of a weekend. Now I have a 1/2 inch of clearance everywhere and the engine can be rocked back to accept the trans and the rest of exhaust. What a buzz kill. Funny stuff aint it?

Gotta love it when you work on a problem all day only to eventually find that the solution is a simple one. We've all been there, and will be there again.

Usually just about the time I've used every work in my mechanical vocabulary the light finally goes on. My wife used to come out to see who I was cussing at but by now she knows it's just the @#&* car.

Me and the car have one of those love/hate relationships.

X2 on love / hate. As long as the love keeps you going, it's all good
