Just curious what it would look like, I know the LTD LX has the front blacked out but was curious about all the other stuff around the windows and whatnot.

I'm in the process; I'm trying to find someone to powdercoat the bumpers and window surround stuff, but if I can't find that I'll just rattlecan it. I'm rattlecanning the grille and headlight surrounds, going with a Rustoleum Satin Black...but I think the bumpers will want something more robust.
I'll post pictures when it's done, hopefully in spring, car is Oxford White (current Ford color used on fleet Rangers and such) with 2 clear coats, and will have flat black trim,
black carpet/dash with grey seats and white accents like the shift knob (hurst). I may re-cover the seats in black with white piping if the grey doesn't look right.

I'd like to see how that looks as well. The biggest challenge is prep. If you don't properly prepare the chrome/polished/anodized surfaces for paint, it'll be very easy to chip off.

I use Isopropyl alcohol to prep my stuff. Wipe it down to make sure it's clean, let it dry and paint.
Some day I would like to black out all the chrome on my LTD LX. I'm not into chrome at all. Please post pics if you do the bumpers.:)

Did that the first time my LTD LX was repainted (professionally in a spray booth). Next time I will be sure to scuff sand or scothbrite as it started flaking within 2 years and is more than half gone now. Windsheilds see alot of abuse.

we use oven cleaner to clean the crome parts then scuff it with 1500grit. Then use an eching primer. The paint seems to stick to that

Ha! I hate chrome too. Iwas just going to use Metalcast. They have a grey that if sprayed enough turns black.
