Did you modify some aftermarket Mustang types or make your own?

On my Z7 I just made my own, but I'm sure you could use some longer Mustang ones. I used a set of the seat brace/crossbars from some Kenny Brown SFC's and made my own main tubes.

Thanks guys, I'll probably look into buying some from maximum motorsports and extend them.

Try contacting Griggs Racing. Thay have a lot of parts for a Fairmont. I'm considering one of their torque arms to go with my desired watts link.
I know I have some on my LTD but I have not really looked at them. I can try to get pics when it comes back from the body shop in a week or so.....

That's because the F/Z's share most suspension parts with the Mustangs. The floorpans however are a little different. The F/Z's are about 5" longer.
The SFC main tubes I used were 5' long and I put a slight angled offset on each end, pretty much how most std Mustang ones are.

I'd be interested to know if a Mustang torque arm would work on a Fairmont/LTD. The 5" longer wheelbase means that the torque arm attachment point in the front will be 5" further back than a Stang. I don't know a lot about them but I think the TA's front mounting point has to be fairly equal with the front of the driveshaft.

That's the ideal spot for yoke movment. A beter spot is under the CG of the car.
I don't see why a TA woundn't work it wont be as well ballanced as it would be in a stang but it would help with traction

That would be cool, I put the UMI control arm reinforcements in and going to put the wolfe torque box reinforcements in then add subframe connectors.

Griggs offers a longer TA for the TBird that should fit our cars nicely.
I'm going to make my own FL SFCs for my zephyr (MM FL SFC clones, but made of .120" wall tubing instead of .083). I have the materials, have seat braces made, just lack a welder.
The WMS racing SFCs fit nicely, you just have to relocate a bracket for your Ebrake. The only drawback is there aren't seat braces, I work in sheetmetal fab, so I made my own. When I got mine they were $109 or $119 USD plus shipping, they've gone up quite a bit. They were plenty stout. I could jack up one corner of the car and still open and close doors easily.
The GW and WMS racing SFCs are similar, but I dont know which one is beefier or less expensive. GW offers seat braces (sold separately), but due to the minor floorpan differences, I dont know if they'll work without a little grinding.
I had a diagram of standard and FL SFCs for our cars (simular to the ones on oldwestracing.com), but cant seem to find it. Its probably on the flashdrive that I cant seem to find...

Do you know what wall thickness the MM connectors are??

14 gauge. They say its for weight savings, but the difference in only about eight pounds total compared to 11 gauge (.120").
A 20ft stick of 1.5x2x.120 cost me about $50. You'll need two 6ft sticks for your FL SFCs, and with the eight feet left over, you'll have plenty of material left to cap them off, make seat braces, and probably a buncha other stuff too.
From the MM site:
The XL Series Full-length Subframe Connectors are made of 1.5" x 2" x .083" wall thickness rectangular tubing. The thinner wall tubing is used to lessen the weight, while the taller dimension increases stiffness by 95% over our standard connectors.
