Does anyone know where I can get as close to stock single exhaust for an 84 SVO? I looked at Stinger, his are just pipes, no mufflers, din't find anything at CJ, FMR, Dallas Mustangs, or SVP Unlimited (seems like they don't do any parts anymore). I just want a system so I can drive without a noise violation. Car's present system end at cat. has flange supposedly after the cat and thats it.

You can get the twin chrome tailpipe at advance auto parts for around $70..

i need the entire deal, from cat (not including cat) to pipes. i don't need the two pipes coming out the same side, just legal exhaust.

The Dynomax Walker catalog used to list all the pieces, and your local parts store may be able to order them.

I think that the tailpipe from the cat back is basically the same on all the turbo cars from 83-86 with only slight differences. If you're not picky, just go to your local muffler shop, and they can order the stock replacement muffler for your car and possibly the front and rear sections of pipes or they can fabricate the pipes and fit the stock muffler to them. I have an 83 Capri turbo and the guy said he did not have a listing for that model. So I asked him to check on an 83 Turbo Tbird and he DID have a listing for that and the muffler was exactly like the original on my Capri. He had to cut out my old muffler to weld in the new one and then he cut the hangar bracket off of the old muffler and weld it on the new one but it looks dead stock original now. The correct hangar rubber and everything.
I have found that if you tell the guys at the parts stores your car is an 83 Tbird Turbo Coupe they seem to have no problem coming up with power train parts but if I tell them its an 83 Capri turbo they always give some piece that doesn't fit or they have no listing for it at all! At least it seems to work when it comes to engine, transmission, brakes, etc.

I would go with the exhaust from stinger and run a dynomax ultraflow muffler on it. With a cat and the ultraflow it should be pretty close to as quiet as stock and will flow much better. I have a 3.5" exhaust dumped before the axle with a dynomax bullet and then an ultraflow and there is no way I would ever get pulled over for noise unless the Holset and blowoff valve are too loud.
