Way back in the mid 90s in MMand FF magazine... There used to be a company that would convert 4 lug wheels into five lug wheels and could narrow or widen the stock wheels?? Just wondering if any of you guys have ever heard of a company that would do that.. I was thinking that my car would be cool to have the factory 10hole (dial tone) wheels on my 86Gt making the outside look stock.

Im not going back to 4 lugs... Just put this thread out there to see if anyone remembers this ad or knows of any company that does this or sells 5 lug 10 hole wheels like the stock ones on an 85-86GT

Thanks,
Jason

This is the place I've heard of a lot of people using to widen/narrow but not sure if they will convert to 5-lug...

I just emailed them with those questions... Also, what would be a good size for the rear? I was thinking of a 15X8 or 8.5. Would that be enough and what would be the correct backspacing?

You had better really love your ten hole wheels. I don't know about a re-drill but widening (plus two way shipping) is EXPEN$IVE!

Go 9". All of the added material is on the inside - increasing the backspacing. Use spacers or sn95 axles to move the wheels out

Yup, I was running 97 cobra wheels that had been widened to 9" with sn-95 width axles on my old 92 and it fit perfectly with a 275 on the rear.

Here's how they fit: http://www.forerunners.com/cars/92lx/TommyStang_15.jpg

I remember the ads you're referring to. They widened and/or narrowed 10-holes, but I don't remember them converting them to 5-lug. You'd have to run some wheel adapter to do that I'd imagine.
