A little while back I had to sell my 79 boxtop because I needed money real bad. I sold it to a former coworker of mine who was giving it to his daughter. I sold the car to him for $500. This was about 2 months ago. I got a letter in the mail 3 days ago from a local towing company asking me when I was going to pay the $180 tow bill to get my car back. I called them and asked what car they were talking about and they said, "Your 79 fairmont was towed on 9/20". I told them that I had sold the car and they said according to dmv records the title was still in my name. I called the guy I sold it to and he said he knew about the car getting towed. His daughter apparently never changed the title and never got the car registered. She was driving it around and got pulled over for having no tag, or drivers license, that's when the car got towed. So I asked him if they were going to get the car and he said he's not helping her anymore. I asked if he had a problem with me getting the car back and he said he doesn't care. So, I'm pickin the title up today from him and getting the car sometime next week. It's just funny to me , because I really didn't want to sell the car in the first place, I just needed the money. Now I don't need the money and I can get the car back for less than half of what I sold it.

The question now is, how much did the girl trash it while she had it...

My first question: is she hot? :D
Good deal on getting it back! I got a call almost two years after selling my wagon from the guy that bought it, wanting to know if I wanted it back. Heck yes I did!

I just hope she didn't have a bowling ball loose in the trunk like the previous owner's daughter did with my '78 Futura.

Well, I ended up not getting the car. The guy claimed he doesn't know what his daughter had done with the title. I went to the tow company a week later and the bill went from 180 to over $300 so I just let it go at that point. They just pissed me off at the tow company so whatever. Someday I'll have another one, someday.
