I have an '86 GT I just put the SN95 conversion on and I used the '95 GT axle shafts in the rear so the overall rear axle width is 1.5" wider. My question is that I have a line on a new set of '07-'08 take offs, will the wheels fit?
Reason I ask is I see them sold with spacers for the 94+ GT's just wondering if my '86 would require spacers too?
Thanks,
Ricky

The '95 rear axle is only .75" wider per side. I haven't actually tried to fit the 05 and newer on that rear, but I have put a pair of 16 premium wheels from an 06 Mustang on my 86 (stock width axles) GT for a temporary basis and they are sucked in about 2.5 inches per side and look like hell. I can't imagine that the 17" GT wheel is going to look much better. I'd search for a 94-04 wheel if it were me.

the 05 and up wheel is the best option to use if you have the sn95 axles they fit the foxes better with that axle.

Sorry to high jack but I have a line on a free 8.8 out of a 98 Mustang. But am going to be running 15x8 weld pro stars with 28x10.5 Mickys, I think I will have clearance issues to the Quarter. anybody know for sure ?

Factory 94-04 17 x 8 wheels have a 5.72 backspace, factory 05 up 17 x 8 wheels have a 6.295 backspacing for a difference of .575". This works great for the back but for the front you may need the spacers, what k-member, control arms and spindles (94-95 or 96 up) are you running?

Im running the '94-'95 spindle/hubs, stock control arms. Looks like I may just have to search for some earlier model Bullitts. I dont really want to run spacers and I need to get this thing rolling pretty soon.
Thanks,
Ricky

i had this same thought. my 86 has the rear axles from 1995, and will use the sn95 front control arms. this will give it the track of a 1995 gt. i think the 94-04 wheels will look ok from what ive seen. if you were to get the axles etc from 99-04 car, the track is wider, and you might go with the 05-up bullits. like if you swap the IRS rear, and dont want the wheels to stick out like its the 70's or something.

I am not sure about the 94-up axles but with an older 8.8 the 05 and up wheels were sunk in bad and I couldn't run much more than a 225 tire. The offset is different. I bought a set of 04 bullitts and they fit nice with a 275 rear and a 245 front.

They need the spacers in the back to look right and in the front to clear the coil spring. I wouldn't run them, I would just look for a set off of a 04 or older car. Spacers aren't exactly an ideal thing to run. If you can keep from running them, you are better off.
