well my wife decided she wants a SVO... preferably an 86 because she likes the composite headlamps... Just looking for info on anything in particular to look at besides the regular fox rust areas...

Those rust the same places all Fox bodies do...

There's a lot of SVO specific parts that tend to get used up... Seats/spats/headlights/side moldings/leather parts etc...

All of the lights including the taillights have been reproduced except for the passenger side outer front turn signal. Expect to pay a decent amount for that if the one you buy is missing it.

Dont pass up an earlier SVO if its in good condition. You can buy the parts to convert the headlights to the flush mounted style if you wish. Just costs a little bit of money.

The earlier cars are about 25-30 hp short of the 85.5/86. You can also upgrade the injectors/vam/computer to upgrade.

by decent amout he means a lot.......I have an 86 and love it. you can find them for sale on ebay, svoca and svooa...good luck

I know of a NICE custom '84 in NJ.....fair price too given all the work currently into it

dont have much free cash at the moment, but i will get one would like an 86 to match my 86 5.0, but im not dead set on that if a good deal comes on a different year and i have the money im all over it

i never raced one in my 86gt. but a buddy years ago bought a 88 turbo coupe t bird. we raced when he had it new, i beat him pretty bad. but t bird is heavier then a svo mustang.
