Hello,
This is my first post, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've already found out a lot of info on the Recaro seats for these cars and the restoration thread is awesome!
Anyway, I'm looking for the drivers side plastic trim piece that says "RECARO" right next to the adjustment knob.
Does anyone have a parts book that would have the part number for this?? Or better can anyone take theirs off and see if there is a part number on the back, and let me know???
I really need to get one of these. If nobody on here has an extra, I would at least like the part number. I've got some sources that might be able to help, but without a part number they can't.
So...if anyone can help me out with this I would appreciate it!
Thanks.

If you can list part numbers, I might be able to find them NOS.

Please remember that this, and every other tech forum, is for tech only. Tech forums are not to be used for buying, selling, or trading parts. We have classified forums for that. If you are looking for a part, getting a part number is OK in here. But if you want to buy a part, please use the Parts - Wanted fourm. Thank you.

I'm not necessarily looking to buy, I'm just trying to get a part number. To the poster looking for the part number....I'm trying to find the part number. If anyone has an illustrated parts manual that can get the part number I would appreciate it!
Thanks again!

ANY number you get off from a Ford part is NOT a part number. They are engineering numbers. Only very FEW can be cross referenced to actual part numbers (usually only things like emissions equipment, ignition parts).
Call GreenSalesCompany, describe what you are looking for and ask them for the part number and if they have it. They gladly look up the part numbers.

Tell me the number(s) on the diagram below that you are specifically looking for in the PM I sent you. Then I'll look up the part number.

Maybe these will help...
Also a ton of other Recaro pics located HERE (http://www.mikemartinelli.com/Pictures.asp?ImageFolders/Racaros)

Those are part numbers for Recaro.
Based on the diagram and your photo, that part sits right up under the adjuster knob. Here are the Ford part numbers:
D9ZZ 6161692-A (RH)
D9ZZ 6161693-A (LH)
Green Sales Company has the right hand in stock. The left one might be more of a challenge. Call them up and see if they can locate it.

Yes, those are what I'm looking for in the photos. I am looking more for the drivers side, since mine is broken, but If I can find both I'd take them.
Thanks again for everyones help!! I've found more info here than alot of other sites!

Of course the one I need is going to be the one that is probably impossible to find :) I never understood why one side is more available than another, for many parts that come in pairs like this.

That's easy. Drivers side = 10 times more wear and tear than the passenger side. Same reason I could find tons of NOS passenger seatbelts but driver side ones were scarce.

One would think Ford would have figured this out over the past 100 years. It's not like things have changed that much to the point where the driver and passeger go together all the time. :weaksauce:

This is not Ford's fault and I'm sure when the parts were not obsolete, Ford made scads of driver side pieces.
The problem is when they go obsolete. What's left on the shelves is what's left. The driver sides just typically run out first....but the passenger sides seem to not be too far behind.

Already looked there, and no, it doesn't help. The pieces are not the same unfortunately.

I am not saying you are wrong, but I think those are the inside covers by the seat belt buckle. I am coming up with
D8ZZ*6961695*F left
D8ZZ*6961694*F right
I got my info from my Microcat program at work... Its not CPD, but still gets the job done..:D
None of my locators show these at any places, but that doesn't mean they are not out there.

The Motorcraft parts book says those numbers are specifically NOT for the Recaro Seats. Those numbers are listed for 80-81 (maybe 79, my book does not do 79)

Those part numbers are indeed for 78-81 non-Recaro seats, according to the catalog. :tu:
Perhaps there is a problem with the numbers. When I look at the diagram, it shows a 61695 part for the outside, but no Recaro numbers appear in the part listing.
