I am thinking of getting the 17x9 saleen sc replica wheels on my 85gt with 4 lug rear out of a 93 cobra. I was wondering if anybody is running this setup or knows if i will have any issues running 17x9 wheels with 274/40/17 tires out back? Any input will be gladly appreciated thanks for looking

i have saleen 4 lug replica wheels on my 81 capri and the 17x10s work in back with 275-40-17s as long as you turn around the quad shocks or eliminate them in front i have 17x8.5s because the nines are too wide im runnin 235-45-17s in front they rub slightly at max turn only barely ,i dont suggest the nines up front

What rear end you have on your capri? I dont have quad shocks. So it should not be a problem with the 17x9 then. Do you have any pics of your car with the wheels? Also any close up pics of the rear wheels? I want to see how close they are to hitting the rear fender.

a cobra rear is different than what you have.

Yeah i know that the cobra axles are a bit longer on each side because my ponys that i have now are flush with my rear fenders. I am running 245-50-16 tire now. So i am trying to figure out what offset i am going to need on the rear.

Probably not going to help much, but I have an 88 t-coupe rear that I believe is the same width overall as the 93 cobra rear. Mine is 1.5 inches overall wider than stock. I would think to run 17x9's you would have to put some stock length axles in along with some of the offset brackets for the rear calipers to go back to stock width. I only run 10 holes, and they are pushed out pretty far just like your ponys are. I was actually thinking of putting 93 cobra front rotors on mine when I do the 87 spindle swap to widen the front track width to match.

Similar to the SVO rear end so you are going to need a 6.5 inch backspace to fit tires well- like those used on the 05 and newer cars. I had an 88 coupe with the SVO rear setup and used 05 premium wheels and they fit the rear well. The front was another story. If you can order them with a stock offset in the front you will be better off.
