I think it is too short.

ACC makes the right one for a Fairmon/Zephyr so they should be able to order it for you. You can order it through NAPA too.

the answer to your question is----it is a DIRECT FIT.I went to 5.0resto personally(here in tx.)I bought royal blue for a fox stang.It is a perfect fit,i have had no problem with it in my fairmont at all.i wouldnt hesitate to do it again,order away.:)

muffler area,under the rear seat.it was designed to accept a longer muffler.the carpet will work fine.

correct me if im wrong but the longer portion of a mont is in the trunk area?

the extra length in the wheel base is at the muff section,the car is overall longer than the stang .
