Hello I am new to the forum and was hoping for some help. I have an 86' mustang with tubular k member ford racing cobra brake kit and am trying to use some sn95 control arms. the problem is that the wheel is moved forward so it rubbs in the wheel well way to much to drive. I stupidly threw the old parts away for space. Will my stock A arms put the wheel back to the center of the wheel well were it belongs?

P.S. any other A arms that will work?

What K-member are you using? It sounds like it is of 87-93 specs.

see if there's a brand or part number on the k member, you may have one that changes the wheel base. Where is it rubbing?

for forward set control arms location you can try using +91 fenders cause they have a larger opening or you'll have to cut the original.

if it's wider you might need to roll the fenders.

stock a arm will give you a narrower track width

wow thanks the k member was in my 87 tbird, and I didnt know that the specs were changed from 86 to 87 fox cars it fit great in my tbird with the sn95's. So any major problems with getting stock arms and just cutting inside front fender for clerence. i will try to post pics tomorrow

So I just looked on the D&D motorsport site for my k member and it says it fits 79-93 mustangs. do the sn95 move wheel forward from stock i cant figure this out? lol
The wheel is just moved to the front of the car about an 1" width is not the problem

There are a set of delrin bushings available to recenter the control arm, but they are pricey....I'm trying to remember who makes them

t-bird k-members are diferent than stang -k-members. Believe they need a 5/8" spacer on the rear mounts.

Found it for anyone else with a control arm predicament. Global West part number 1046RD You flip the bushings in order to recenter your wheel after using an increased wheelbase k member.

except those aren't for a fox chassis. Those are for SLA types(mustang II) suspentions. You don't want to be flipping the bushings in a the front control arms of a fox cause they're a one way only press in. I've seen those go in the wrong way and it's not a cheap fix.

They ARE for a fox. Aug 07 issue of Hot Rod they show them being used for a 4.6 Fox conversion.

I am not sure of the exact offset bushings that are in the link by global west but I am using a set that looks identical that I purchased from Ford Racing. They do work great! They have been discontinued by Ford Racing for the earlier cars but may still have them for the 94 and up cars. I am pretty sure that these are designed to give additional positive caster by moving the control are forward a small amount. Maybe they can be used in the opposite direction to add negative caster and give some clearance but I am not sure. Personally I would not start cutting up the car to gain clearance. Sounds like you may need a different K member. I know that some of these K members move the position of the control arm forward almost an inch. Not really going to fit well at that point. The bushing will never make up for that amount. You may have better luck having the control arm mounting clips repositioned and reweleded. You could probably purchase a new K member for less trouble. Good luck.

I have a set of 94-95 Mustang control arms if those would work.
