would the actual "H" tube on an H pipe be an ok place for the wideband o2 sensor? I dont want to measure just one bank. It wouldnt be an ideal place i dont think, but???
Maybe if there was a bung in both sides of the h pipe and i capped the one im not using off or something?? or is one bank of the 302 usually leaner than the other with a carb and certain intakes? thinking of running weiand stealth dual plane or the edel. air gap in the near future.
any advice?

Do you already have the wideband meter?
FAST makes a dual sensor kit to measure both sides at the same time.

no i do not have the gauge yet. i kinda wanted to stick with the round gauges look,
has anyone seen how the FAST unit mounts?
is there a company that makes 2 1/16" gauges holders for the pre 86 fox interior? steering column would be awesome???

The FAST unit has a output to hook it to a round gauge if you want.

My 85 GT, that would be great if you could post a picture!! can you attach it to the post vs. just pasting it in. These gov. computers dont allow us to see them unless they are attached. thanks
Ltngdrvr, thanks for all the help, I think the FAST unit will be my best option. now i just need to find a round gauge holder.

I welded in a bung just downstream of the collector on the pass side. Its actually a bit aft of the stock O2 bung, but it seems to get good readings. You don't want them too close to the heads, or they can overheat and will die prematurely. I don't think the crossover pipe would be a good spot. I'm not sure how the gasses flow through there, and it may not give you accurate readings. Make sure you weld the bung in between 10 and 2-o-clock to avoid water killing the sensor.

Because that is the side of the car that the wideband controller and EEC are on and it was convenient :)

I've got the LM-1 from Innovate...like it a lot. I need to score the RPM converter to make it a true laptop toy. :D

I have an LC1 and I do know that it can be sensitive to rich conditions. I drowned mine during my initial MS startup, before I had any kind of baseline tuning. It stopped working, but I removed it, and blew it out with compressed air. After a recal, it worked fine once again. Since dialing in a tune that's close, it has worked flawlessly.
