I've currently got some pony wheels with 215/60's i think on it. What is the biggest wheel and tire combo that will fit? Also proper backspace with welds etc? thanks

we had 245/50/15's on the back of our ltd wagon with 10-hole wheels. no issues. 225/45/15's in the front will rub at full lock, same with pony's. not 100% sure on sidewall height, will figure it out soon.

mines got 245/45/zr17's on 03' Mach I rims, this is on an ENTIRE disk to disk rear out of a 96 mustang GT, I tried some 18x9 Chrome saleens but no way in hell they were fitting, the Mach's are 17x8 obviously

Ya, I rolled it, it fit but JUST barely, I ended up trading them for the Mach's plus $$$$$$ ;)

I'm running 245/45/17s all the way around on mine, although they are Falken Azenis RT615 which from all accounts run a bit wider than most tires of the same size. My car is lowered a bit with coilovers in front and adjustable height control arms in rear, and has 96+ front lower control arms and a Lincoln disc brake rear, so my track width is extra wide (essentially like a Mustang SVO) and requires me to run high offset wheels. So I'm currently running '05 Mustang GT wheels, which fit fine until I converted to front coilovers, and then the wheels would hit the struts.
So now I'm running 1/4" spacers (as big as I can go without requiring new studs) and it works fine except the rear tires started rubbing in the quarter panels when I have people in the back seat. I had previously rolled the fender lips, but the rubbing occurs further up inside the quarter panel where there's sort of a "lip" inside.
I went to a junkyard to do a little destructive testing and found an LTD I could practice "massaging" the inside of the quarter panel with a hammer to see how much I could beat down the lip without damaging the exterior of the car and was happy to find I could beat it down quite a bit. So I repeated this on my car and now my rear tires only rub if I have a few people in the back and hit a bump. I can live with that.
I could remove the rear wheel spacers and probably fit a wider tire, but I like being able to rotate my tires so 245 it is.

Scott, good idea on the practice car. I also have 245's on my Mach I rims, 4 wheel rotation FTW.

Same as F/Z. 225/60R15s will rub on the front fender lip during full turns with any jounce. But other than that they look good with refinshed 10-holes.
