Either way it was a good story. I have found bringing up religion on forums doesn't turn out good usually. It can lead to all kindsa ****.. lol

it's a good story true or not. I know I have been guilty of not standing up when I should.

Thank you someone for noticing, Haro. Political and religious threads do much more harm than good on forums like this. I guess it might sound strange for some, but there are people on this board and others who are not christian. This board seems to be pretty good about letting the religious and political threads go, but everytime I see one come up I cringe. Why not save these discussions for the family table and keep the FourEyedPride board about mustangs, cars, or other things we all have in common?

Because by keeping our discussions strictly to cars we completely miss the point of being here...so to speak.
We come here and freely express our LOVE of these things and completely ignore ANY love for each other, UNLESS some unfortunate situation occurs in someone's life. Then theres an outpouring of sympathy and well wishes.
I, like the next guy understands the pitfalls of discussing politics and religion in an open forum set up for something entirely different and in "mixed company"(for lack of a better term). Believing in God was not the only point of that story. There are many things to be gleaned from it......Why do the masses allow the opinion of one MAN, however learned and respected, to intimidate and sway what they think and/or believe in?
Or better yet, those who don't stand for what they think and/or believe in, will fall for anything.
I wonder if this would have gotten the same reaction if it HAD NOT been "FAITH" based!

Good video, true or not. I'd like to discuss some of the points brought up in this thread and also that video. First off, I am a Christian, Pextor knows that, and he also knows that I will not ram my faith down anyone's throat. Even Jesus didn't do that. If the people of a town were not receptive to his message, he would simply leave and travel to the next town. Everyone is different and we all believe different things, and that's good. If we all believed the same thing, we'd be lemmings or something like that. Anyway, for those not interested in my commentary of the video, stop reading here.
As for the video, regardless of its truth or not, God does not need to prove himself to us. In fact, if he does, then we have no reason for faith. Then we KNOW he exists and we will no longer have to have faith a pursue a relationship with him. It's like if the ark of the covenant is found. Then christianity is proven true and no one has any reason to believe anything else. It would be like cheating on a test. You get the answers when you should have studied and practiced beforehand, if that makes sense. To me, I see God in everyday life. He doesn't have to give me miraculous signs or anything like that. I see Him in healed family members, mended relationships, finding a job when I was unemployed. Stuff like that. If the story is true, I do not believe God make the chalk not break to prove he exists, so much as to stop the professor from crushing the hopes of impressionable minds and also the fact that he was obviously very abrasive and disrespectful of people with different beliefs. So now most of you probably think I'm a religious nut or something. I'm not trust me. You can even ask the others on here that know me. If you want to discuss matters of religion with me, I'm open to it as long as you are respectful of what I believe.

I have no faith nor religion. I saw that as a feeble attempt to push faith onto others. The chalk slipped out of the guys hand, nothing more/ nothing less.

That smells like a fish story to me.
No one EVER stood up to him before? Hard to believe.
And I doubt someone that strident in his philosophy would change his mind over what could easily be explained as an accident.
I say B.S. It's just an attempt to inflame Christian believers against a percieved descrimination from the intellectual set.

Thanks for posting moelll.
In no way do I believe this thread or the youtube video was an attempt to shove religion down anyones throat. Just like radio or T.V. if this is something you don't believe in or like then ignore it, don't read it or watch it and move on. If you feel the need to respond please be nice about, which everyone has been so far.
I think FEP is a good group of people who are mature enough to handle religious and political topics if and when they come up......especially compared to the aero nose and MOD motor swaps we argue about all the time.;)

I wish all Christians would think that way, then I wouldn't have to pay extra for HBO, or Howard Stern on satellite radio.

Whatever one believes, the video will not change their mind. It will at best only reinforce their held beliefs.
