Can this tool remove axle bearings from an 8.8 rearend also?

That's the tool I used. I recommend that you stuff some rags into the axle tube just past the bearings. The first bearing I pulled came apart in the process & I had to fish several bits & pieces out from deep inside the tube.

I have that exact same kit from otc. I bought the axle bearing remove attachments for it though. You can probably just use the 2 or 3 jaw attachment though to pull it out. Its part# 7494

Sorry I do not know what "otc" stands for .:confused: Is it the same price over there?

OTC is a brand name:)

OTC is the name of a tool company, they manufacture a wide variety of specialty tools. They are most noted for being the supplier for Ford Rotunda Special Service Tools, which are used at all Ford dealerships.

You should be able to rent that from Autozone...with the good attachments, not the 3-jaw puller style. The attachments that fold out from a flat position work like a charm.
