Half to ask yall , I am a painter and was offered by my client a 1993 black with gray leather interior cobra for 18000. Is it worth it ? The car has 3308 miles on it. It is literally flawless

No. While nice and eventually desireable, 18k, not yet. 12-14k but not 18. IMHO.

Are we talking 3,308 or 33,080 miles? Still seams high priced, but low milage is low milage....

I 2nd this opinion.

Okay, IMHO . . .

Are you going to ---- or able to ---- put the car away and not increase the mileage?

If the car has 3,308 miles on it, then (to me) it's "somewhat special" ---- but, if you buy the car and rack up enough miles to make it average ---- then you got a car that's just "average."

Since this car isn't some type of "special edition" (e.g., Pace Car), it's likely not going to be sought after ---- so, if you buy it, I hope you like it ---- because I don't believe that there's going to be a line to buy it.

It's going to be a nice "conversation piece" to set up in your hopefully climate controlled garage.

Now back to your question. Does "somewhat special" equal his asking price? IDK.

well do you like and want a car like that? if you bought a new car for 18k would it be any where near what you are offered? 33 hundred miles is a new car. 18k for a new car is not bad. but if you are looking at it for an investment then you would have to do like dburdyshaw says and leave it in a garage. if you drive it it will go down in value. so it depends on how much you would want that car.

That is not a bad price, I almost bought a 1993 Cobra for $17000 out of Austin, Texas about a year ago. Just for your info, I was looking at a 93 Coupe, my local credit union would only go $3300 on it. They asked me if it was a Cobra, they told me they would finance up to $36,000 for one of those.

Not a Special Edition?? The 1993 Cobra IS the most valuable fox body that was ever produced.

Less than 5000 non "R" model '93 SVT Cobras were made and every one of them were serialized by SVT. They also had interior, exterior, and mechanical parts than no other Mustang before or after it had. I'd say that qualifies them as a "special edition".

17,100 miles - sold for $16,500 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180273528480)

I would also say its a fair price. 100k drivers go for almost $10k in good condition. If you could get it for about $16k I'd consider that quite a good deal.

Thats a very fair price. Low mile ones like that are often priced over 20K

x3. Those are way more rare then a pace car. The only thing special about a pace car is the nose, hood scoop and paint. They're (pace car) cool to look at but the 93 cobras are way better. I dont know on the prices of them but my dad will so i'll get him on here:D. They are awesome machines:

7K mile teal with grey cloth that we owned (I miss that car:cry:) and my dad sold it for 12,500 as a roller no motor or tranny.

When these cars were sold in 1993, some car collectors bought these cars and stored them. They knew the potential value for these cars. $18k is a fair price for that Cobra. In another 10 years, I believe that price could double. It's definately an investment.

Just to say it out loud, I meant no disrespect to anyone (in my comments above) and no disrespect to any car.

I only meant that, frequently, cars like anniversary editions, Yenkos, Bullitts are often more sought after than those that are produced in somewhat slightly larger numbers ---- and, therefore, sometimes easier to sell later on.

For me, I actually like the "time-capsule" aspect of the car ---- and, for that matter, the car itself.

If you like the car, then price is relative to "how much" you like the car. Needless to say, I never like to pay more than I have to for anything ---- but (again, if you like it), I'd go for it. It would be cool to get the price down some ---- but then that would always be cool.

Additionally, I agree 100% with dawaki's comments above as well. If the stuff like the rubber parts aren't dried or cracked or about to need to be replaced ---- then this is absolutely a brand-new car ---- that just happens to have a 1993 year on it ---- and I mean that in a sincere way (not trying to be funny).

The most valuable? I think not. 107 Cobra R's, Saleen SSC's, SAAC's, I'm sure I can think of a few that are worth more.

There were half as many 93 Cobras as Pace Cars. There are 3 times as many Cobras as special paint LX's of the same era. The argument can be made for a lot of models of what is worth it from an "collector/investment" standpoint, but the Cobra with the higher "entry point" from a consumer purchasing standpoint has ensured there are many well preserved examples out there.

The 93 Cobra is certainly one of the collectible ones, and if you plan on putting away in a garage, safe and sound, taking it out on the very rarest of occasions, then I think 17K is a good but not great price. But it's only bound to increase in value if you keep it well preserved and don't drive it very much.

I paid $7500 for a 78K mile R titled 93 Cobra and to me I got a good deal. this car will only increase in value. What options are on the car? I think the only major ones were leather or black cloth, CD player, and sunroof. If I had the money I'd own it in a second. BTW ask these guys they would know

Only four options avail.

leather
sunroof
cd
power driver seat

I am amazed at some of the crazy money low mile 93 cobras bring. A true mint 4k mile time capsule will bring 23-24k.

The 93 cobra will be, and is one of the most sought after fox cars. A low mile cobra brings as much as a Saleen, and way more cobras were built in 1993. It's just one of those cars, much like a Grand National.

I will have a teal one someday....

So I drove it and 1,3,5 are really tight, more than usual. I swear to GOD it was an hydrolic clutch. It pressed so easily. Would of bet my house it wasnt cable. AAhh it was a cable. Man that car was tight. He said its here waiting when you get the money and I said deal, just call me before you get rid of it. It still smelled new. Unbelieveable
