Since you already have dual exhaust on the car, any cat back for an 86-93 will work. As far as I know, flowmaster does not offer the Super 44's in a cat back kit.
I suggest just buying the 44's and having them installed in place of your MAC mufflers.
I have the Super 44's on my 84 GT with a 351W. Sound awesome!

^^True that. I love the sound of flows on a 5.0. I got a set of Blowmasters from my buddy and had em welded in, cost me $50. The mufflers were free. I think if you wan't the super 44's you should just get em and have em welded in. No reason in buying the rest of a cat back when you already have a new one.

Here's something I don't understand. The kit linked above, Flowmaster 17213 is listed on Flowmaster's website as $488.48 but Summit lists the exact same part number for $379.95.

Why would Summit have the kit for more than $100 less than what the manufacturer lists it at? You'd think buying direct would be cheaper, but I guess not.

summit buys in volume, a lot of the time you can get parts cheaper from summit or jegs then directly from the manufacturer

click the first link in my sig for a sound clip of flowmaster 44s

Your car sounds wicked...Hard to tell how the mufflers would sound say on my car thats stock right now...lol...Your seems to have a nice motor set-up....Maybe the Mac's would sound better with H/C/I but i dont know i still love that hollow sound form a flow....

I installed the 40 series Flowmasters on my car and the constant drone inside the car killed me. I had a headache for a whole week. Needless to say, those bad boys had to come off. Went back to the MAC's. I like the raspy, Nascar sound that the MAC's have.

lol, there is a reason why we all have flowmasters.

I personally don't like mac, they sound like ass.

I listened to both before deciding on the flowmasters, and I put them on both my hemi ram and my 86 and 66 mustang

I'd go for the original american thunder series. save some cash, and just have them welded to your current pipes, which should be themac 2.5's right?

as well, go to a junkyard, my local yard has tubs and tubs and tubs of aftermarket muffs they cut off and sell....30 each

I guess the question is, will your car be used as a daily driver or track only car? Maybe I'm just getting old. Find someone with Flowmasters on their Stang and go for a 30-60 minute drive. That will let you know if you can tolerate the dronemasters. They sound nice outside the car. Makes our Stangs sound like they have big block engines, but there's a price to pay.

wow, you guys are drone haters. I don't understand. that's what makes flowmasters so good!!!

I can't get enough of that drone, it's so melodic. When I was younger, I dumbly burnt out an entire clutch from slipping the car in first gear up a ten story parking structure just so I could hear the drone all the way up.

gotta love the drone.

...and building the rear with 3.73's..

Does your 85 still have the original 7.5" rear end installed? If so, you might want to consider upgrading to a 8.8 with a rear girdle kit versus just installing gears. Especially if you plan on slapping on some slicks and taking a run down the 1320.

You can go on youtube and find sound clips of all kinds of exhaust. Of course you won't be able to know how it will sound inside your car until you get the system on.

I am going with Dynomax "Race Bullets" and X-pipe, sounds killer on all the sound clips I have heard.
