I need to replace the seat track on the passenger side front seat in my 79 Cobra. Does anyone know if these tracks are unique, or can I use any manual seat track? I'm including a pic of the seats in case that helps.

Also, has anyone used the Xenon front air dam that is available for these cars. I really like air dams and fog lamps and such, but unfortunately the Cobras did not receive these appointments until 1980. I was thinking the Xenon air dam would be a suitable alternative if I cannot find an authentic 80 to 82 bumper cover and air dam. Any thoughts?

The seat tracks should be interchangeable 79-93. In fact the power seat tracks bolt in as well.

Welcome!

I'm old school so take what I have to say for what it's worth. The 79 Cobra is rare and endangered. You can make yours look like all the other stangs in the 5.0 or MM&FF mags or you can make it a stock looking sleeper. You can get the decals from Pheonix Graphics and the TRXs come up on e-bay all the time. I have a set of four I would give you for a song. So, I would skip the front air dam an pull the rear wing you put on. I would also research the car and find out what it came like from the factory. Easy to do and it's free. Just contact Ford Customer service and they will send you the info. But before you do anything, get subframes welded in and the driver's side floor pan reinforced. Just my two bits.
