Well, just got back my history 999 report on the T-top SVO. According to the report, the car was originally Canyon Red and not Jalapeno red. It's actually pretty cool since I like the Canyon red better anyway. It'll just be a little more work when it comes time to paint. It also says it was made at the Virginia plant, not Michigan. I didn't know they produced them anywhere other than Dearborn. Well, I guess that means it didn't get its T-tops in Michigan. Still waiting on the info on the original owner. It gets more interesting by the day.

999 reports are pretty much novelty junk. I wish Ford wouldn't even bother sending them out as they are full of absolute rubbish most of the time. We've seen Mustangs listed as having a Black Magic Option or some such (I think one was an 84 GT350), there's a ton of inaccuracies that have been documented on this site.
DO NOT put any faith or stock into what that report says. The car was built in Dearborn, as were ALL US/Canada Mustangs after model year 1980. Before that, they were also made in San Jose, but that's it.

weren't all the t-tops done by an aftermarket company for Ford?
Thats the way I understood it anyway.

Cars and Concepts. Same with the early convertibles, not sure up to which year though.

The Body/Buck Tag's exterior color code is "2R", which is Bright Red (which some people call "Jalapeņo Red"), not Canyon Red.
I decoded your tag here:

Those reports are usually pretty much worthless.

Starting with the SN95 platform Ford did convertible conversions in-house.
The difference between a "factory" and "aftermarket" T-roof is the former has the proper factory order codes on the Vehicle Certification Label ("door sticker/tag") and Body/Buck Tag, and the latter does not. No SVO has ever been found with these codes.

Yeah I'm sorry, I meant for that post to be sarcastic, but reading it, I sound like I'm an idiot. I've had several 999 reports that were incorrect and I get them for pure amusement. I've contacted Marti Works, but they still don't have the info for these years yet. I'm just glad I did find the buck tag, at least I know it's Jalapeno red. I bought a 69 Mach1 from the original owner a few years ago and it had the original window sticker and build sheet. History 999 was so far off, I thought they sent one for another car. Of course, I've had a couple that were correct.

Early Mustangs were also built in Metuchen, N.J.
Every SVO that has T-Tops has been scruntized thoroughly so far. The general concensus is since it was not available as an option it will never show up on any window / door sticker(s).

The Mustang was also made at the Meutchen NJ plant, I do believe, when the San Jose and Dearborn plants couldn't produce enough to meet consumer demands. This was in 1965-66 I believe.

I think Skye is talking about Fox Mustangs only.
