This weekend we were at two car shows, and sold 88 tickets on Saturday at Milford, and today at Malcolm we sold 151 - for a weekend total of 239! We're now sitting at a little over 1300 tickets sold, with four weeks left in the raffle. To fully endow the scholarship, so it's $500/year forever, we need to sell a minimum of 1900 tickets - and we have 8 shows left - so from here on out, if we average 75 tickets/show, we'll make it! Both shows this weekend were at very small towns, but one was part of an area celebration kinda like a fair, and Malcolm drew over 300 cars for their show today - so lots of foot traffic at both.
I gotta say, after having my hands tied a bit over selling tickets over the internet, and after the first few appearances we were only selling 40 or so per show, I wasn't near as optomistic as I am now. Just those of you who've read about it might like an update.

I know few of you are within driving distance, and with the permits we had to get, we can't really stray far from Lincoln to sell tix - but here's where we're going to be over the next four weeks, anyway:

Saturday, August 23rd
Hy Vee car show, 70th and Pioneers - 10-4
Sunday, August 24th
South Pointe Mall Car Show on 27th & Pine Lake - 10-3

Saturday, August 30th
Haymarket Farmer's Market, 8-noon (tentative) & Melichar's 66 (by the Haymarket on 9th street) from 1-5 (the Huskers have a night game.)
Sunday, August 31st
Bigler Motors on North 27th (tentative) 1-3, & Eagle Raceway inside the front gate from 4:30 'till the races are over.

Saturday, September 6th
HyVee on Coddington, 8-2
Sunday, September 7th
Havelock Car Show, 10-4

Saturday, September 13th
Super Saver @ 56th and Hwy 2, 9-3
Sunday, September 14th
Sid Dillon, 10-2 - DRAWING - WINNER DECLARED!

Thanks again for all the support!

Tommy

Are you going to be with the car at these shows, specifically on the 30th? There's a chance I will make a trip your way on the 30th and am planning on checking the car out if I am down your way.

I updated the shows for this coming weekend, and yes, I'll be with the car at any and all of the shows. PM me if you're coming, I'll make sure you have my cell so I haven't wandered off on a break when you stop by. We're a little over 1400 tickets sold right now with 18 days left, so things are going well - but we have to sell around 500 tickets in the final shows to make it happen. We have members of the club selling them one at a time as well at work and such, and they've accounted for something like 600 of the sold tickets - so we're getting lots of help. Anyway, thanks for the support, and I hope I'll see you this weekend!

Super huge kudos to tman & family, who drove down from SD to get some tickets! Holy smokes! I hope the trip back went well, and I'll get the pic up as soon as I get a chance. And hey, let me know about the guy with the R&P in Columbus. We finally got kicked out of the station around 3:30, as it had really filled in - but things went well. We sold right at 50 tickets today. Bigler Motors and Eagle Raceway are tomorrow - and we're down to 2 weeks left before the drawing.

Thanks again, man - I really appreciate it!

Not a problem Tommy. Glad you were able to sell more. Like I told you, that car is unbelieveable. Pictures do not do this car justice. I was smart and took I-80 to Seward which I should have done in the first place, dam construction. The trip home was better since the wife and kid both fell asleep. Peace for a little while, lol. Finally found a place to eat after a couple wrong turns and and about 35 minutes. I hate one way streets now. About 3 blocks away turned and saw a whole bunch of cars coming towards me. An oh S*** moment. But it turned out okay. Hopefully the tickets keep going for you. Good luck. Oh yea, the cell number was my mix up. You sent me the right one, I just wrote it down wrong.
