They're not chrome, actually bare aluminum that can be polished.

I've got my eye on a set at a JY I frequent.....as I like the naked look too.

mine had the two rubber stops on it but i shaved them and welded the holes and found a cadilaic plate holder that matched the point in the middle and moved the plate to the center instead of off to one side

The plain bumpers without the bumperettes was the base bumper. Add on option/packages added the bumperettes and for us unfortunates, the hideous plastic strip on the leading edge. I have a '78 Futura which has the great plain side without the barf-awful "chrome" strip with plastic insert but came with the full garbage add on for the bumpers.
The only plain front FZ bumper I've found in the wrecking yard was smacked right at the tip and unusable - sigh.
I have a bumper from an ex-cop Fairmont that has the holes for the front push bar. I wish they have left the front push bar on...

I used a plain ft bumper with a dent. a little pounding with a block of wood and a bfh and it looks good. remember its alum and can be straighten.

One of the members here in California has a 1982 Cougar Wagon with Stainless Steel bumpers. He was saying that the Granada wagons came with very similar options and they ran on for a couple more years ('83 - '84). Both are Fox platforms. Cougar wagons are really rare, but sooo purty, right TBird? :)

Stainless? No way. Either aluminum alloy with anodize hardcoat or chromium (chrome) plated steel.

I'll get him to take a magnet to them. He's had me drooling for almost 2 years about them. They aren't aluminum for sure. :)

See, that's what's fun about this hobby of ours. I actually prefer that side trim to
the plain look. Against some paint colors maybe not so much, but they look nice on
my silver StaWag. To me, the worst are those aluminum channels with the rubber
inserts that the dealers used to pop-rivet on the doors.
I don't mind the rub strips on the bumpers either. I could do without the big
rubber biscuits, but I've got some ideas for making 'em not stick out so much...
