I should be there Saturday with a few friends. Having a mid-low 14 second car I'll probably just be parked in the show like I did a few years ago. Certainly isn't a "show" car but it's presentable. A friend of mine is trying to get his tubbed and blown 69 coupe ready to race, but I hope he just shows it. Seems like every time he decides to race the thing we wind up pushing it at some point during the day.

I'll be there on Friday. I'm leaving around 9:00 am and we'll be at the track when it opens at 5:00 pm. We'll race Friday night and again on both Saturday and Sunday (provided I don't break something).
85GT-79FJ40 (I can't remember your name - sorry!) Hopefull I'll meet up with you on Saturday.

At the moment we're still undecided on making this. Depends on the pay check this week. lol If we do go though we'll be up Sunday.
In any case good luck to all those going down the track! Stay safe!

To you all that did not make, you all missed a great time. The weather was great and so were the cars.Nothing like seeing shinny paint, rear cars, the smell of rubber and race fuel.
Pete and Paul,
It was great seeing you guys and boy can you guys race!!...... Sorry I had to leave early, but wanted to spend some time with the wife and daughter. Plus I got jealous seeing you guys go down the track. See you soon and keep in touch.
Kate and Karl,
It was also nice seeing you also. Maybe next year you and I can make it down the track. Keep up the good work on that Capri and lets see more pics in progress.
Well hopefully some one else got some great pics or video of the weekend and will post them up.

Thanks Chris. Yesterday afternoon I finally got my car to gain speed and had my 2nd best mph ever at 109.50. Unfortunately, my E.T. wasn't the lowest ever, as it happened on a 12.72 run. For some reason, I couldn't get my e.t. lower than 12.70. I was hooking good and my 60' times were in the same ballpark as they always are (high 1.6's - low 1.7's).
On both Friday night and Saturday, I was running 14 psi in the ET Streets and everytime I shifted into 3rd gear, the car would wiggle sideways and my top speed for either day was 106 mph. Yesterday, I aired them up to 16 psi and got rid of the wiggle. I think that helped with my mph as well, because I was now running 108-109 mph. Previously, I've never had a problem at 14 psi so I don't know what that change in the car was all about.
On Saturday night, I was one of the final 10 contestants in the eliminations bracket. There were about 100 cars and it was good to "go rounds". It was the first time ever that I made it out of the first round so I know that I'm getting better as a driver. I'm also now able to focus on a lot more "little things" while I'm going down the track.
Anyway, I didn't break anything and that's the main goal.

I was there yesterday and had my 85 parked in the show next to my friends 78 F150. My day didn't go as planned which kind of sucked, but I did see both Paul and Pete make a few good runs. My friend brought his 69 which died (like it always does whenever there is an event) because of a bad distributor cap, and of course he didn't have a spare with him. Fortunately It died right next to his trailer so I didn't have to push it. I probably couldn't have even if I wanted to, I did something to my knee on Saturday working around the house and it's still acting up. I was having a really tough time just walking around yesterday so I spent most of my time sitting in the stands. I didn't check out much of the show cars, I got a pretty good sunburn, and I never got around to introducing myself to Paul and Pete, which I had intended to do. If it doesn't stop acting up in a few days i'll be headed off to the doc for sure.
