I had some time and some extra 1/8" metal kicking around so I decided to make my own Upper Control arm mount reinforcements, took about an hour and less than 5 bucks in material.

how did you know how to make the shape of the smaller one? you already buy a set? i bought that set on ebay a while back and am pretty happy with it, the downside being welding access inside the torque box really is narrow

I made a cardboard template cut it until it fit right, I have seen the kits on the net and used them as a guide. I agree that welding in the torque box sucks but it will pay off in the end I never want to have to do this again atleast on this car He He!!!!

Can they be installed by using body panel adhesive, instead of welding them in???
I heard that the adhesive is as strong as a weld.

i reall doubt any adhesive is as strong as a permanent physical bond like weld. And i woud nt want to trust it to hold up to the forces the torque boxes take

After they are bolted in I will weld the inner piece to the floor.
