found a 85 ltd 2, with 3.8, only 70k miles

found a 1985 ford ltd 2, 4 door. in the neighborhood where i live a older lady has it. her dad bought it new, and it only has 75k miles on it. its burgandy with burgandy interior. all power windows, etc... its in VERY good shape in and out and runs perfect. it has a 3,8 fuel inj engine with aod trans. car is a easy 7-8 out of 10. and thats being modest. she wants $1500 for it. wounder if its on the money, seeing it had very good history. just woundering. any info would help. thanks

An '85 is not an "LTD 2".

LTD II = '77-'79

'85 = LTD (mid-size, Fox platform) or LTD Crown Victoria (full-size, Panther platform)

the elderly lady that has the car said it was a 85, i havent seen the actual title. i do know that its the car that is the same as fox body. if im saying wrong, im sorry. it has the same four-eyed lights as the mustangs. seen one just like it at local drag strip with 460. 4-lug car.

if im saying wrong, im sorry.Not a huge deal, it's mostly Ford's fault for keeping the same "basic" name for two different platforms. It makes it somewhat difficult to answer questions when it takes the first 10 replies to figure out what car the poster actually has.

Some of the guys around here can get a little overly-sensitive when the wrong terms are used, but at least we're not like some classic car show nuts, who will explain in great detail what a crappy car you have if it doesn't have sloppy paint overspray on the fender bolts, like the originals usually had from the factory.

my family has 3 84 ltds. they are not ltd 2s. same fox platform. in fact, two of them have fox stang motors in them
