tire sizes???

what are the wides tire you can fit on the rear?
I have a 18x9 cobra r that have a 235-40-18 on it. foxbody.

Greatly depends on the wheel backspacing or offset and whether or not the car is lowered. Also, going wider may require the removal of the quad shocks and/or the addition of upper fender lip rolling. I've seen up to 315mm wide tires on the back of a Fox but the backspacing was dead nutz on with some minor hammer work to the inner fenders. Best thing for you to do is get under there and measure the clearance you have now, do the math and then buy the tires. Follow the tire manufacturers recommendation for rim width too. I agree with the above, many sizes fit, but your exact wheel may deem otherwise. I'd start by doing some measuring, and using a tire spec chart to determine the maximum useable size.
