That's an absolutley horrible idea. I'm sorry. It won't work so nicely.

One time I dyed a seat black, and it was all hard and crappy. Given, it wasn't leather, but it isn't a wise idea to dye any seat. The seats wear like crazy; they wrinkle and press when you sit on them. This will cause the paint to chip... and that's not gonna look so hot.

I know the white won't look as good as black, but it's not worth destroying a nice pair of white leather seats over.

Do it if you want to, I'm just warning you what's going to happen.

you can dye the interior and it will look good as long as you prep the parts and make sure they're really clean and use quality interior DYE not paint, i dyed some white seats black once and they will eventually crack ( but not chip ) i couldn't afford new seats so every once in a while i'd just touch em up with some dye, i admit it's not the best option but for the money i had to work with the results were amazing

i did this on a blue convertible with a white and blue interior, i put a black top on and painted the whole car black and dyed the interior black also

who sells quality dye either opal grey or black and what kind of prep promises the best results? I will have to do alteast the dash, and might try the top dash pad, and maybe the door panels.

Has anyone done the hatch panels? how well does the color age? thanks

First of all, you guys are all talking about TOTALLY DIFFERENT things.

LEATHER dye is NOT ANYTHING close to FABRIC dye or INTERIOR PANEL paint.

Leather CAN be dyed to like new condition. There are some good leather dye kits out there...they are not terribly cheap. We're talking kits that can resurrect Mercedes, Jaguar and Ferrarri leathers.

Here is a place to check:

I think somebody from the asc site used them but am unsure really. His seats came out amazing. It is a fairly envolved process though not just spray some stuff on and let it dry.

Fabric dye is fine for fabrics. If you don't scrub and scrub it in while it dries, it will harden the material.

Interior lacquer is what you use on the dash and interior plastics. You also use it for dash pads and console pads. I have not used it on door panels yet since the door panels are a mixture of colors and I have not seen a painted door panel that looks like the originals (except for black).
