Pictures from Mustang Owners Club of Austin Car Show - 8/02/08

I just got back from taking the SVO to the Mustang Owners Club of Austin car show today. Myself and fellow four eyers met up before the show and got a section to ourselves. We had a 86 7B SVO (mine), a 86 Dominator GT (Chris Lott), a 80 V8 Cobra (Chris Lott), a 84 Copper GT (Jeff), and a 85 Convertible (Bob).

This was a really great mustang show with over 200 cars in attendance. Besides the 100+ degree temperature it was awesome. I was really surprised at how many people came by and checked out our 4 eye cars. Chris's cobra won the crowds hearts though lol, I dont think that 5 min went by without someone taking a picture of the hood snake :lol:. None of us entered in the judging but a really nice 60,000mi 85 gray GT won an award which was pretty cool. I will definitely show my cars there again and next year I will bring out my predator.

I heard about this through the San Antonio Mustang Club. I have my children this weekend, otherwise I should have taken the 5.0 Capri out for a drive.

The cars actually got a lot more attention that we thought that we would get. I don't have many pictures of the other cars there, but there were 1/2 a dozen old shelbys, a Boss 302, quite a few 428CJ cars, and lots and lots of newer saleens, cobras, gt500s, etc. The fact that our cars got so many stares and so many people talking in that kind of company was pretty cool. Bo had the only SVO there which was pretty surprising, we figured there would be at least a couple of them. The '80 Cobra got a ton of attention, a lot of people hadn't ever seen one in person so that was pretty cool. Next year I'll have one if not both of my Predators ready to go, and maybe the DPS coupe if I make any progress on it. All in all it was a great show and it was good to make such a good showing for a class that is usually underrepresented.

Good to know...the 4eyes are still underappreciated here, but are starting to make some inroads due to their use at the local drag strip.

I try and get the Dom out at least once a month for a little cruise, just to keep everything going. A cruise to a car show is even better! And yeah, that copper '84 was definitely cool. Has to be my favorite color for '84, I wish they had offered it in '85/6 too.
