I have been collecting parts for this thing for a while now but besides collecting in my garage, I have been way too busy to do anything with them. I have mostly restored the engine compartment and have the engine on a stand machined and ready to go together but needed to get the K-member swapped before I can think about installing the motor. I also bought a correct 3.08 7.5" rear with the slapper bars still in place a while back to replace the tiny 6.whatever" rear that was in the car for whatever reason when I got it. I had some use it or lose it vacation days to burn so I took the week off. Seems that even my vacation days are too busy to get anything done but I was tired of tripping over the parts in the garage and managed to set aside yesterday and today to get some of this stuff swapped in. Luckily, we are in a heat advisory so that just added to the fun.:pimp:

Yesterday: removed the rear end, lower control arms, tiny sway bar and unknown springs. Replaced with the rebuilt 7.5" rear and lower arms, sway bar and springs from a 92GT. I also installed completely new rear brakes including ebrake cables, rubber hose and all drum brake components.

Today: I replaced the original front suspension with a K-member, control arms, steering rack, springs and sway bar again from a 92GT. While I was in there, I also gave it new ball joints, struts and replaced every brake component with new. I went back and forth over installing a set of later model GT brakes I have but ended up retaining the small brakes strictly for the fact that I want to be able to use the correct 14" wheels. I did want to paint the k-mamber before I installed it but I know that if I wasted a day painting it, I wouldn't end up getting it installed. I might mask it off and paint it if it starts to bother me too much. Since it wont really be visible, I might not mess with it.

Now I just need to figure out what in the hell to do with the junk I took out:cool:

I don't know about clean but its coming along nicely I guess. I've put alot of work into the engine bay and the interior is in pretty decent shape. It needs attention on a few spots of the body and I'm going to put fresh paint on it. That comes last though. I'm building this one for our daughter to drive when she turns 16 so my main concerns are that its safe and drives right but making it pretty is definitely on the menu.

I used the original "onion heads".
