You can purchase V8 bellhousing adapter from a few places also.

what kind of changes would it make on the car's horse power?

Horsepower change........ zero.
It may allow you to run numerically higher gears and still have a decent cruising RPM. The numerically higher gears would make the car accelerate faster, thus fooling the buttdyno into feeling a power increase.

I plan on a T56 or some other 6speed transmission. It's not gonna add any HP at all. Trannys don't add anything but speed or torque. They just transmit(transmission, get it?) power.

woulndt it add to the top speed being that there is a extra gear? but that makes sence. thanks guys.

It'll add to it if your engine can provide the power for it.

10-4. If you don't do any performance mods to raise the HP it will feel "slower" or sluggish. The gear ratios are different with the 6 speed. I have a 5.0 tranny with a 3.35 first gear and if it wasn't for the fact that I have additional hp (240 rwhp), it would be a turd. Not to mention you'd have a hell of a time cruising in 6th gear. The 4cyl. doesn't have enough low rpm torque to lug at a low rpm cruising speed.

Exactly, the advtange the cars that the 6 speeds are offered in(save for the Cobra probably) is that they make loads of torque below 2500rpm. The Corvettes can cruise around town in 6 gear without a problem. Our cars however...make torque when the boost comes in.
Now if you combined the 6 speed with a VNT/VVT turbo maybe you'll have a combo :D

Neil, (from the link you posted above) had one from a Powerstroke on his SVO.

Thats the whole point of using the six speed. More gear induction, just need the power.
