Door Strikes

I've got an 80 convertible. The doors rattle a lot. I have ordered new seals which will cure some. I noticed the 83 up door strikes have an added alignment piece next to the strike bolt, it looks like to align and hold the door better. Will these work on an 80? The latch is the same so I do not see why not. the 79-82's only had the "bolt" sticking out of the door jamb.

Anybody tried them?
