I have two sets of seats & both drivers side seats have that typical Gangsta lean to them. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
So I was wondering could I just put one of the passengers side seats on the drivers side?
will it bolt in?
Or are the bolt patterns different?
& have any of you fixed the factory seat lean issues before?
I was thinking about taking the seat apart to weld & reinforce the frame where they seem to Crack.

The drivers side track will bolt to the passenger seat. However, the controls for the set will be imbedded in the carpet of the tunnel. I'm not even sure the seat will bolt in as the knob and latch may hit the tunnel first.
I have seats apart. While the steel shell is almost the same it isn't quite the same. The hinge points are different and its all welded together. It would be a significant undertaking to cut out the passenger side hinge points and weld in the drivers side hinge points.
Here's a link to a procedure on repairing the steel shell. On mine, things were so far gone that repair really wasn't an option.

It'll bolt right in.

It'll bolt right in.
So I could run two passenger seats at the same time?
with no mods right?
the brackets & everything are the same?

You have to keep the seat tracks on the side they belong but the seats themselves will fit on either seat track. I've done it before in a Ranger. It's goofy with the seat controls on the wrong side, but it will work.

I just finished my temporary seat repairs.
The passenger seat was faded, complete but the lower seat frame was rusted out.
The drivers seat had a shattered back frame and badly torn upholstery and foam.
I found an 86 GT in a PIY yard. The passenger seat was good merely faded. The drivers side cushion was good, faded, and dirty. The backrest had torn upholstery but the metal seatback shell was good.
I dismantled my original passenger seat for the seat back upholstery and foam and installed that on the junkyard drivers side backrest. It went together well with the only issue being a hole where the old passenger seatback release lever was.
So now both seats look decent but are a faded maroon color. They'll do for a year or so until I get around to buying new upholstery and foam.

How hard is it to reupholster the seat yourself?

It wasn't the easiest or the hardest thing I've ever done. It takes more patience than anything else.
