I talked to MIKE R. He said the problem were having is due to over torqueing the lugnuts! He asked me how much I torqued them and I replied 100ftlbs. He said proper torque is 75, drive it a while and retorque to 75 again. Seems alittle bit low to me on an aluminum wheel.
He told me to call summit and tell them I talked to him and see if they would replace the lugnuts. He said if not to call him back and we could work something out. But that he could not just GIVE me another set.
I have not talked to summit yet. I will let you know what they say.
I just saw this thread..lol. 75?? Yeah I have always done 90. With the jacked up design I doubt they will "walk" out. Have you ordered your rear wheels? I finally got my 8.8 back from the powdercoat shop and am going to begin asembling it. I need to decide what backspacing I am going to need. I am using a Fox body 8.8 but we cut it an put 9" ends on it. Its still the same width but it has Aerospace brakes going on. I am trying to decide whether I can fit a 15X10 on the back. It seems someone said I need to have 5.5" of backspacing. I am running a 275/50/15 drag radial. Thanks for the info. Keep me updated. I will probably be ordering wheels within the months end.
15 X 10 with 6.5" of back spacing won't work on an 8.8 with Aerospace brakes. This sucks. Front wheels for sale now!!!

They are reasonably priced and look fantastic.

Those are pretty nice! I went with the Greg Welds for the price and wish i would have just stayed with the 4 bolt Draglites that came on the car now.:( Wheels have gotten exorbant in price as of late. Thanks for the link. This is a Greg Weld wheel issue because i have friends running the exact same size wheel with the same backspacing, same brakes with Draglites and Pro Stars with no caliper issues. I have a friend with an 01GT that is coming over today. We are going to fit test his 17X 10.5" wheels/tires on the back of my car and see if these Greg Welds fit his stock brake set up.

how do you figure?
my last car had 15x10 pro-stars, 6.5bs, and aerospace all around. rolled lip and heavy hammerin on the wells and that was with BFG 325/50/15 drag radials

Pro stars aren't Greg Welds. I'm sure the difference is just enough causing the issue.

Exactly. Weld Racing, is NOT Greg Weld Racelite wheels. Here is a pic of a Greg Weld on my buddys car. You can see there isn't much room even with stock brakes. These rear wheels(Greg Welds) fit STOCK brakes only, something they neglect to tell you. At least in a 10" wide one.
