Hey guys...

Any recommendations on cleaning up the forged aluminum TRX wheels? I just bought a used set and while there are still some shiny spots, for the most part they have that gritty, gray coating all over (had the similar issue with my Capri's 10 holes).

I read in another post that using Permatex Gasket Remover was the way to go as it removes the clearcoat finish on the wheel (and the clearcoat is what is damaged, not the aluminum).

Any thoughts?

Thanks.....Dave

go for the gasket removed or basically any kind of paint stripper thats aluminum safe.. first i would ask myself the question why? is this for a show car? do you have new tires for them? i wouldnt trust 20+ year old tires very far..

the coating is anodizing. use oven cleaner on them to get the coating off then you can polish the alum.
