wireing harness

I am putting an 8 in place of the 6 in my 80 mustang,I have a complete harness from an 82 gt v8,should I swap out the complete harness or just use the one from the 80,if I keep the one from the 80 what do I need to change?Also I will be swapping the entire dash from the 82 gt into the 80 so would it be better just to swap it all?

If you're going with a carb'd motor it really shouldn't matter about the underhood harness.
