View Full Version : The 2008 Northwest Four-Eye BBQ is ON !!
WHTLTHR79RS
06-20-2008, 02:01 AM
The date is set. We will be gathering in my big field for the annual Four-Eye BBQ on Saturday, August 16th, 2008. Starting time is 10 am, please try to be on time. This will be the 5th annual get together of Four-Eye cars, and last year there were 28 cars in the field at one time. I have made 62 ( that's sixty-two) NEW contacts in the last 9 months. In addition, there were about 9 to 11 cars that just could not make it last year that should be ready this year. And, there will be a few that won't be back because of re-locating to the other side of the country, being sold, ect. Last year, we got all of them in one row. This year I would like to see 3 rows of cars. I am also trying to set things up to offer tent camping on Friday and Saturday nights, with a fire pit. Please hit the provided link to go to the BBQ website to print out your flyer and registration form, and get it returned to me by August 9th. Cost is $6.00 per person, under age 10 are free. ( they don't eat much) I will be serving burgers, dogs, salad, chips, pop, cookies, and mabe a surprise or two. When you mail in your registration form, PLEASE also include a business sized, stamped, self addressed envlope so I can get the 2009 registration to you for next year. Folding chairs, sun shades, and cameras recommended. We will do a photo shoot before eating, and a country drive in the later afternoon with a second gathering spot for another set of group photos for those that can stay longer. Those of you that filled out a SASE at the event last year, will be getting your form in the mail soon. Last year I did not attempt to invite anyone further than 200 miles away, but after the event, some said they would have driven further to attend, so this year, if you are in another state and want to attend, come on and join us. Now go to the link and print out the flyer and form, make many copies, and start recruiting new Four-Eye owners for the event.
Go Here >>>> http://stangranch.com/bbq/
post your reply here to let me know if you plan to attend, and how many cars you will be bringing. Really looking forward to this year. See you all in "the field"

Count me in, of course.
Got a new camera this year, 7+ megapixels. If we get even more cars than last year, maybe Nelson can shoot half and I can do the other half. Hopefully, that way we'd both have time to get a burger and shoot the breeze some, too!
Speaking of time, could you could go thru my carburetor during the BBQ, Neil? I'll bring a rebuild kit... heh heh :D

And if Neil doesn't mind i'll dig up some parts to set in front of my tent for sale

I just got the flyers sunday from Mustang Marty, cause his office put the binders on use of the copy machine, so they will be in the mail on tuesday afternoon. Before any of you fill in the info and mail them back to me, make some bright paper copies to pass out when you see other 4 eye owners...I have over 65 new contacts on hand.

Bring the family along!!!!
Neil, have you considered getting in touch with Modified Mustangs to see if they can cover the event in the Mag? I know it's to late to get and advance press but it would be a very good story for the mag. If they aren't willing to send someone out I'd be more than happy to write a submission after the event.

im hoping to make it with my new 85 gt vert but i have no exaust for it yet and i need to license and tab it too or get a trip permit. my girl will drive the 86 gt or i will, havent decided yet. i kinda dont wanna show up if i cant have the vert done cus everyone has already seen one beat up 86 gt they have seen em all. so if anyone has a stock h pipe off of a 86-93 for cheap let me know so i can get my vert down there. and i hope to see some new people too.i just did the clutch on a friends 83 5.0 vert so he is almost up and ready too and i have to round up a kid up the street too with a 86 t top

Hi Kyle, My apologises..I replied to your PM back in April with my contact number and the BBQ website...I need YOU to call me so I can enter your information into my data base. I have been recieving registrations in the mail for 10 days. Go to this website...
www.stangranch.com/bbq (http://www.stangranch.com/bbq)
and click on the "registration" tab, that will open up a PDF file with my official flyer on page one, and the registration form on page two. Print out the form, and get it in the mail with $$$ included, and you will be good to go. We REALLY need as many Capri's as we can put in the field, or the SVO's will dominate the event !! Again, please call me at the number listed on the flyer so I can get the proper information from you....don't want to miss out on the '09 event either...even bigger !!

Hey Neil, did you talk to that guy in port orchard? he decide to go?
WHTLTHR79RS
07-29-2008, 12:42 PM
Interceptor, there will be a spot in the field for you, I knew you would make it sooner or later. M., yes I did talk to the guy in Port Orchard and he brok his new motor while installing it in his car, cracked the block I guess with a bolt. Outwith the new motor and in with another new motor....90% chance that he will make it also.
as a side note, there will be a good showing of SVO's this year, so I need the stangs to hold their ground, and I really need the Capri's to rule again like they did in 06...
remember to bring your folding chairs, cameras, and if you have them, the 10 by10 popup shade tents....

i dont know if im going to make it.....i cant find exaust for my 85 vert. i have the passenger side exhaust from header to the back of the car from a old cut up h pipe but i have nothing for the drivers side other than the header and a bunch of mufflers and cherry bombs that i cant do crap with. and i still have to title it and tab it and buy plates for it. cant find a stock h pipe on craigs list or on here locally.so i dont know. i dont want to go if i dont have the vert. i was going to drive the vert and my girl was going to drive the 86 gt.so im still lookn for a h pipe used since i cant afford custom exaust or a ofroad h pipe.so i dont think ill go

I think about 25 cars, and 45 to 50 people.....I also think there are more that are dragging their feet, and have to run away from job, ect at the last minute. TEX, yes you can show with out a car, just send in the form soon. If you do get the car done, even better.
Furthest distance traveling so far is way, way, way more than last year...got to show to find out, and there might be a car with low, low, low miles too...

As long as you have sockets for 4 lights, then ok. If I see an aero conversion, then we will drag you through the sticker bushes....minus the car....

08-13-2008, 02:33 AM
So, you check to see if it's an actual four eyed car by using the electrical componentry or by the car's manufacture date??
What did you mean when you said no conversions?
WHTLTHR79RS
08-13-2008, 03:25 AM
This event is for the 79 to 86 Capri, Mustang, and SVO. I do not allow any cars newer than 86, nor would I allow a car of the 79 to 86 vintage that has had a nose changed to the 87 and up style. I have not had any problem in the past, and nobody has come up to me in the past events to inform me that an 87 or newer car had been converted to resemble a 79 to 86 model year. There was one car that I came across that was a Mustang, but the owner had put Capri front fenders on, with a Mustang nose. I did not invite him. If I end up with a car in the field that is 87 or newer vintage, but has been converted inside and out to look like a 4-eye, and this car is pointed out to me by someone with good knowlage, then I will ask the offender to quietly leave. When this event started, we had all year cars, look at the 2005 pics on stangranch, then the 4-eye guys convinced me to keep it "pure", so that is what I am trying to do, and I DO take a lot of flak at times. I know you can't make the BBQ this year, and want to be in the field in 09, so I am waiting for the chance to meet you. Many of the owners that will attend this year are repete guests, and I trust them to be honest with me. I invest countless hours of time, long distance charges, paperwork, ect. to offer a time and a place for owners of like kind cars to gather and enjoy some food and good BS with out the pressure of being "judged". I will start to promote the 09 event just after the 1st of the year, so more owners can "plan" to be here. I have over 170 contacts on record, and a good many of them just had something else on this date. If you might be wondering if I am respected by the owners of 87 and new cars, the answer is "yes", and they have invited me to their events also ( as the black sheep, of course ). If someone wanted to do a BBQ for 87 and newer cars, I would be very willing to show them how to put together and event, ect. and to tell them that it needs time to grow. I hope this answers your question, Mike, and I do look foward to seeing you next year, on the 15th of august.

Perfect Mike, if you have a desire to meet other 4-eye owners, then I will do my best to provide the place and venue. I came real close to loosing this 3.5 acres this spring do to a neighbor trying to re-zone this property to commercial. That would have put my taxes to $30,000 a year, and the for sale sign would have gone up. He will try again, so get here while you can.

well im not so sure u would want my 86 gt there then.!!! almost everything but my dash and nose are 87-93 style. my list is: mirrors, qrtr glass,lx 87 rear bumper cover, 87 inside rear interior qrtr plastic, 87 gt wing, 87 steering wheel. and my 85 gt has 87 gt side skirts.
its my personal taste. i hate the 86 sail panels qrtr windows and the cruise steering wheel leave alot to be desired compared to a non cruise one of the same year and i got my rearend wiped out so i used a 87 4 banger bumper cover. mustang stamped in it looks better anyways. i like the 4 eyes and thats it. personally i want a sn95 complete interior swap.
well anyways i doubt im going. i did pick up everything i needed tonight for me exaust for my vert but i have a blow lower radiator hose, need more atf fluid and my car isnt licensed. i almost made it but no cigar unless i do it all tomorrow moring. the guy matt who gave me the h pipe tonight has a 86 t top car he might be going if he gets it fixed in time though. i gave him a flyer. couldnt find the bill guy with the vert. but my friend bill with a verts probably going. the kid up the street with a 86 isnt going hes out camping. sorry
