First problem: The front end is either a Pace Car or 80-81 Cobra. Ask for a VIN number. If it is a 79 Pace car the 5th and 6th from the end digits will begin with 48. (48----). Otherwise check the inside door handle location. 79's only had the door handle on the bottom. I would also look at the trans. Is it a manual with overdrive or has a newer auto been swapped? Look at the floorpans to check for cracking around the seat area and also under the cowl cover for rust. Otherwise go over it like you would a regular car and you should be okay. Maybe talk him down a little if possible. Good luck.
