I want to buy this car, but I need some opinions.
It has 89,000 miles, brand new brakes, wheels and tires. He wants $3500 for it. The only problem I have with it is that it has a rebuild title. I've looked it over and under and see no signs of collision repair. If it's been wrecked and fixed, they did a heck of a job doing it.
I'm gonna pull a CarFax report, but I'd like to know how many people think it's worth the price.
Here's a pic.

Do you have any pics of the front frame rails and/or any of the body seams inside the trunk by the quarters?

No, but I can get them next weekend. I snapped this picture as I was leaving and didnt think to take any more.
I'll get some and post them, but it will most likely be next Saturday before I get up there again.

$3500 is a little much for a TC with an "R" tittle. I paid $1500 for mine and it has no "R"

If he thought he could get a crash car and fix/flip it for what he has into it.....he is mistaken. Crash cars have a notorious rep for going for only about half what a clean titled car goes for, and a clean T-Coupe would go for only about his asking price.

Keep in mind that it'd have a salvage \ repair title if the car was flooded like thousands of cars were down in Louisiana a couple years ago.....

Thats true. I wasn't even thinking in that direction.
I appreciate the feedback.
Now that I'm convinced the price is too high, I'd still consider making him an offer. I don't want to buy a car that I can't get rid of eventually, but I'm in a pinch for a cheap DD.
I'm considering offering him 1500-2000. Any input?
Thanks everyone.

You could easily part it out for $1500 IMHO.....

i may not know too much about cars, but theres one thing i do know. That is a steep price, for that you can buy a mint a$$ car for a dd way better looking that that., Shoot you can buy a mint SVO at that price. i just found a 86svo today for 1,500 and i have the money but have my 84 that i want to take care of so i am trying to sell my notch to x2 my $$$ and make the svo a diamond in the ruff :D
My advice is keep looking around, are you looking for a thunderbird turbo coupe or what else you have in mind for a DD? and by the way thats no cheap DD

Way to much for one with a rebuilt title.

I've been keeping an eye out for TBird but after everyones feedback, I see that I was a little too excited about this car. I've had several days to sleep on it and am just going to let it sit.
Thanks everyone for pulling me away from a bad deal. I've never dealt with an R title, but if not for you guys and a little other research I'm sure I'd be kicking myself for being too impulsive on that one.
I'll let you know what I end up getting. :)
