blackout hood?

Is this hood part of a blackout package of some sort? Or has it been painted this way? I can't tell that it has been painted.

where is the "blackout"? looks same color as the rest of the car....or whatever part still has paint...

The hood is black and there is a pinstripe around the black part of the hood.The only silver paint on the hood is about 2 inches around the front and left and right of the hood.

sounds like you are describing a 83/84 GT hood, ok maybe not as big of an area blacked out though....still dont see it...how bout a better pic

I was thinking the same thing. I have never seen one factory that way before. As soon as i get it home I am going to wash it and post some better pics.

Thanks. I was I knew what that spoiler was! LOL! Not 1 person on this board has seen 1 like it so far. Kind of weird its an odd ball spoiler, the 2 outside pieces are rubber or plastic or some thing and the center is aluminum.

yes it was a complete rebuild of a 85 with 95 driveline and keep it carbed.

Never mind! I looked at it today pretty close. It has been painted. You can see in the door jams where they split the color from the factory. silver on top and black on the bottom.I would say someone got creative with the masking tape. So now the question is did it have decals on the hood and door? Is there any way of knowing, and if so where can a person buy the decals? I can put them on myself.:confused:

youll have to get the build info for the car and yes they are still avail ass reporductions. pheonix graphics are making them

Either check for a build sheet or go to www.martiauto.com and buy a marti report. A few of the Cobra owners on this website have purchased one (myself included). If yours was ordered with the hood decal this will show it. Here's a copy of mine. If you check out the thread
by Hissing Cobra about his Marti report you will see where it will be listed if yours was originally ordered with the hood decal.

The deluxe report I ordered was $46 and took about a week and a half to get to me if I remember right.
